Watching Pitch Black again, has there been a good alien / sci-fi movie since?

Prometheus was fucking awful. Europa Report was ok, can kinda dig killer space squid. I can't really think of others but I know there have been other shitty ones.

Syfy and direct to DVD movies are good, but cheesy. I'm talking like good, cool looking alien, major productions here. Thoughts?

I enjoyed Prometheus

I didn't want to bump an old thread so I'll put this here. Finished Boardwalk Empire last night. Fantastic series but I was pretty disappointed with the last episode. I actually said out loud, "Is that it?". Going to start The Wire next more than likely. A buddy of mine has been hounding me to watch the series Power. Any reviews on it?

Check out The Bridge, it's like the wire but with mexican cartel. It's The Killing meets The Wire basically.
