Sorry, I mean once you watch her in True Detective her in anything else is just blah.
Went and saw The Last Witch Hunter.
It's certainly better than recent fare like Eckhart's I, Frankenstein or The Mortal Instruments, way better than the last NY magic thinger, Cage's Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Continuing, it's better the Resident Evil or Underworld series in structure and execution (though it seems not in box office). I would have to say it's a bit better put together than The Chronicles of Riddick.
Have to jump genres, but not on the same level as Dredd.
So, hmm, I'd have to say, it's pretty decent, but not incredible.
Finished Twin Peaks. I felt the second season was quite weird in pacing but overall I really enjoyed it. Afterwards I read the wiki and it's said that ABC had a hand in why the pacing was bad. Either way it was enjoyable and I'll still end up watching the movie just because. I also plan on checking out Blue Velvet which was made by Lynch and stars Kyle MacLachlan.
Finally watched Jurassic World. I was thoroughly entertained.
Finally watched Birdman, was gr8. Wish I saw it sooner so I didn't miss all the movie discussions.
Also oblig twin peaks pic.
Goosebumps movie with jack Black in it. Not usually a fan of him but this movie was really good.
Finally saw Back to the Future for the first time in my life. Great Scott I felt so ashamed having never seen it until just now.
Think that beats me on anything I've ever been late on, holy shit dude.
There's always that one guy out there. Hell, my friends envy me for not having seen Evangelion ._.
Really? Evangelion to me is the textbook definition of a refined taste. Finishing the anime series the first time was just "Well, that was okay I guess, but I don't really see what the hype of this often being considered the greatest thing ever is." Then getting into each of the movies has made me progressively more excited about the series as a whole to the point where I can go back and watch the anime and enjoy it significantly more than I did the first time.
Evangelion is one of those series where you really have to dive into it, pick it apart, and analyze it in order to truly appreciate it. Even then a lot of shit is still up for interpretation.
And then at the end of it all it's still just another standard shonen with vaguely mythological symbolism tied in.
I liked Eva a lot. I think it's a great show overall. I also think that searching for deep philosophical meaning in a show based around giant robots and daddy issues is one of those "to each their own" sorta deals.
You have pretty strange definitions of "shonen" and "vaguely".
