Seemed more like they were trying to get a lot of shit into the episode than it not having a purpose.

I also can't remember many episodes where Peter+Olivia and Bell+Jones and Walter+Astrid were all, essentially, on separate paths/arcs.

You've seen episodes with 2 stories, in 2 worlds, with maybe a small introduction of a 3rd sidestory/evil plot. This ep was almost 3 entirely different arcs for the 3 character groups PLUS it had a fringe event in the beginning and a trip out to St. Claires.

Oh plus Peter/Olivia discussion at home, which would fall under their story for the episode but it was also a pretty big deal in terms of their development.

You could def tell the episode was setup to be either the series ender or season ender. Good shit though. Ready to wrap it up.

Also, a random beam of light appearing in the middle of Boston - does anyone not know about Fringe division yet after all the shit that's been going on there? And I thought DRJ had a poor sendoff. After being the baddie for the season you'd think he deserved something grander.
haha You kind of called that shit huh?

The experiment on the chick from Lost was freaky and cool at the same time, I could watch that all day.

    Was an awesome episode

    Spoiler: show
The experiment on the chick was amazing. The way her eyes were shooting around and in different directions made me a bit uncomfortable, which is what I imagine the characters felt during it as well. Kind of rare to to feel the same thing as the characters (at least for me).

I'm also guessing at the end with September saying "They are coming," he means the other Observers, leading into that future episode a few weeks ago, which would be fucking awesome if that was the case. I loved that episode

So, the question now is was she really doing that with her eyes or was it just some camera tricks? It seemed legit to me, and would be hella cool if she can really do that shit. Can you imagine doing that and freaking people out all the time. Can you imagine bumping the ugly with her and she starts doing that right as she climaxes? (sorry, maybe a little uncalled for?) woah, would be crazy.... lol

It didn't look real but I could be wrong. When you close one eye the muscles around it scrunch up to do it. I couldn't see any of that going on. It reminds me of the priest in Deadwood who had something going wrong with one of his eyes. I couldn't tell if that was the actor's party trick or special effects too.

Would've creamed if she uttered "I'm not supposed to eat Chocolate before bedtime." during that spaz moment.

You can stimulate the eyes to do that. I don't know if they actually did that, but it's possible.

So that ep19 wasn't really a "what if" scenario but really what the next season will be about? With September's "they are coming" and that bullet from Olivia's brain

    Next season spoilers
    Spoiler: show
We already knew that the future-under-the-rule-of-the-Observers fourth season episode of Fringe – “Letters Of Transit” – was going to have a major impact on the fifth and final season of the show, but we didn’t realise quite how major.

If John Noble (Walter) is to be believed, most of the next season will be set in that future.

Speaking to TVLine at the Critics’ Choice Awards (where he was nominated for Supporting Actor in a Drama), he said, “As far as I know, we’re just jumping ahead [to 2036].”

Noble continues that “there will be references” to the team’s pre-amber days, even using “found footage” to share monumental moments with viewers.

“Walter, Olivia, Astrid and Peter are insurgents, so we know all the dirty tricks that have been played against us. We’ll be learning from the past,” he reveals

Interesting that he mentions Olivia, as she was absent from “Letters Of Transit”. However, we did get to meet Olivia and Peter’s daughter, Etta, and we’ll be seeing more of her. Noble predicts, “a wonderful reunion of mother and daughter”, a scene, he says, Anna Torv (Olivia) is “really excited” to play.

He also promises resolution to the show’s ongoing complexity of plots: “Walter is the man who started this, so there has to be resolution. There has to be redemption. We also have to see the final maturing of the relationship between Peter and Olivia, because it has been so difficult for them and we want them so much to be with each other.”

Edit. spoilered since link is a spoiler, sort of.

The world is about to be invaded and conquered by time traveling Observers from the future. Our heroes must find some way here in the present to stop the take-over from happening… or they must find some way to overthrow their oppressors in the future.
