Pretty much everyone outside of Eastwood is a non-actor. Hmong peoples don't have much representation in Hollywood.

They should've gotten the guys that Stallone used in the most recent Rambo. That would've ruled.

This. Especially the main girl, who really can't act to save her life. The torrent of the movie has been out for weeks, get a copy from mininova.

I suggest that you also download Slumdog Millionaire and Let the Right One In while you're at it. Slumdog needs no introduction since it has won a couple golden globes. Let the right one in is an excellent Sweden vampire movie that Twilight will pale in comparison. Though the movie isn't for everyone because it's unusual by hollywood standards. There's no fast action or twisted plot, but interaction between the protagonist and Eli the vampire. The story emits a scent of mystery and strange attraction, and I am totally mesmerized by Leandersson's performance as Eli. Check it out, it's worth your time.

Let The Right One In was very good. I liked the way it was shot. Seemed very minimalist which fit with the vibe. I heard it's getting remade here. The movie is much better than the book btw. I think the American version is supposed to be more faithful.

Regarding the acting abilities in this movie, the teenage boy was the only person with a prior resume in this movie. They wanted to get people as 'real' as possible and thus made an open casting call for this movie. Which didn't pay off in the end imo, but damn wouldn't that be nice? Never acted a day in your life but get to star alongside Clint Eastwood? Not only that, but in his last movie. That would be one of the greatest things to ever happen in my life.

The movie was fucking brilliant. Way fucking better than I imagined. Best movie since Batmaaaaaaaaaaan imo.
