This is the worst I have seen MSU on defense in a long time. (granted a lot has to do with UNC being good, but they will likely put up a 1st half total in the mid 50s)
Lawson 9 points, 6 assists, 4 steals at half. Hansborough 15 points 7 rebounds.
If MSU could figure out how to play transition defense this game would be a lot closer. I wouldn't call it quite over yet, but MSU would have to shoot something crazy 60% in the 2nd half to stand a chance.
I'd say it's over as a guy who has no rooting interest at all. They don't look like they can stop UNC at all right now, and this big of a lead given to a team with that much talent? It's like an early X-Mas present.
The fat lady is singing her ass off
anyone doubting unc after tonight can gtfo
notre dame and now msu
People love to hate the overall favorite and clear cut best teams, you'll hear it all season, but yeah thrashing two good teams should shut a few people up.
As I said. MSU couldn't stop them.
Well, no doubt UNC is #1 right now, but to be fair... ND is almost strictly a perimeter team (with exception to Harangody), and Michigan State, as always, is overrated based on their performance in the previous year's NCAA Tourney. That's my opinion that is.
Interesting. UConn is playing Buffalo and is losing 46-49, and...
Personal Fouls:
UConn - 6
Buffalo - 19
Free Throws Attempts:
UConn - 17
Buffalo - 5
The most surprising thing is... UConn is the visiting team!
all these people here talking shit about "Well if Carolina played UConn or.." blah blah blah. How can you expect those teams to hang with the heels if they are barely winning against a bunch of nobodies? (Looking at you UConn and Oklahoma)
*Just In* Oklahoma barely wins against a nobody (USC) by one damn point ... and UConn wins by 4 (Buffalo) and BOTH are unranked opponents .. and you say they are ready for Carolina. I think not.
Who said UConn and Oklahoma could run with UNC? rofl. I think USC would get beat by 20-30 easy, but I do think OU puts up a match with the Griffin twins in the middle. Especially the younger one. Kid's a beast.
Don't quite understand why you are defending UNC so hard though. Not like people don't think they are #1. >.>
Carolina fans are celebrating the most meaningless shit in all of sports...NCAA regular season. Theres a ton of ball left and teams are going to lose, including carolina. They are going to lose to a team they shouldn't lose to. That's how College basketball is. Some team is going to make it to the Elite 8 or final four with 5+ losses. Blowing out teams by 35 points in the first quarter of the season means about as much as losing by 1 point to a lesser talented team...which is about nil. To say "well you aren't ready for us..." is patently fucking retarded. What are you going to say when a weaker ACC team beats you? "well, we weren't ready for them?" Jesus christ, put on some fucking realistic glasses.
If you read further back ... basically people were saying that Carolina is number one cause they haven't played anyone ... and Uconn and Oklahoma were specifically mentioned as teams that would beat them. As far as celebrating ... UNC could come here and beat the hell out of the middle school team and I would celebrate. Why? Cause I am a fan and that's what I do. Yeah .. its the regular season .. and yeah they may lose at some point in the season. The real test will come when Conference play starts. Regardless, I am still gonna keep cheering after every win. You can keep the glasses, I dont need them
In a league and sport that makes it's name on lesser teams being able to compete with big boys, you honestly think that Buffalo playing UCONN close is any indication of how that team is. You honestly think they couldn't "hang" with a UNC based on their performance in one game? You honestly think that Western KY is better than Louisville? It's not that I don't think a UNC would beat UCONN, because I do, it's I'm just confused as to your reasoning. Because Buffalo played them close, UCONN is a lesser team....makes me wonder if you've watched college basketball...like...ever? I repeat, this is not college football...
Upon further thinking, your logic seems ass backwards. You acknowledge a lesser team (Buffalo) can play ball with a big boy (UCONN) but dismiss a lesser team against UNC. The talent disparity between Buffalo and UCONN is far greater than the talent disparity between UCONN and UNC. If Buffalo can hang with UCONN, are you telling me UCONN can't hang with UNC? Maybe not 7/10 games, but it only takes 1.
After looking at his responses, Im not sure he is aware how college basketball works, I highly doubt we go undefeated, it's ok to be a confident fan, but in college basketball like tyche said any team can be beaten any night and or play a big school well like the case with the buffalo and UCONN.
Also USC isnt a nobody, they were in the top 25, they have some good talent on that team, but most of them are young and very capable of making a deep run in the tourny. They just played poorly on a few occasions because of inmaturity.
You really think Carolina fans are that ignorant? 1991, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2008. Those are the Final Fours I've personally watched us go and come back with absolutely nothing. All of them great seasons (except 2000), ACC championships, etc. etc. Doesn't mean anything without the ring.
What UNC fans are excited about is a 35 point win at a "neutral" court against a top 15 team in the country. Sure, we might not win the title. As you say, anything can happen and that's why they play the games. But we sure look like we will win it all if we avoid major injuries and stay hungry at the end.
Who cares about going unbeaten anyways? Let stupid fans talk about that, then you can smack em in the mouth when we lose (which we will, I'm guessing 3 in the regular season). Our record in April is all I care about.
And in case you think I'm some bandwagon fan... my degrees from Chapel Hill - 2005, 2009 and 2013.
Yes, your fans are that ignorant...and onto you!*Just In* Oklahoma barely wins against a nobody (USC) by one damn point ... and UConn wins by 4 (Buffalo) and BOTH are unranked opponents .. and you say they are ready for Carolina. I think not.

So is it three games they'll lose or is it none? Apparently you don't think anyone is capable >.>
And this was geared toward the Carolina fan who thought that a 35 point win is something remarkable. It was a top 15 school that you have no idea if it's a top 15 school. UL was ranked 3rd and I said we were overrated and would lose 10 games. Now were 11th or something.
If you think margin of victory is actually an important stat, you should post in this thread...

Look, Carolina is easily, easily the best team in the nation right now. I'm not going to go out after 7 fucking games and say "THEY ARE THE BEST IN YEARS!". It's seven fucking games, Florida raped the NCAA from like 2004/05 to 06/07, completely dominating on the toad to 2 championships. Sorry, you haven't earned the right to say you're better than that team, not after 7 or 8 games and getting completely dominated last year in March.
