Playing a CD = Blue screen of death?

    So I bought this,...

    Tiesto Elements Of Life CD

Put it in my cars CD player and it says no audio tracks available, so I look at the back and its a music video of it.

Awesome place to put a video in the music section in the same CD looking case, anyways I get home pop it in my computer and whenever I try to load it I get the BSoD.

I close all programs thinking it was a fluke and do it again, same result, about 3 more times too.

So why does my computer which runs my games at 60fps with full graphics I bought in the last year crash when I try to play the CD?

I have 56gb of free hard drive space available but it still crashes, why is it doing this?

put it in another pc, see what happens. likely it won't blue screen the other pc, but if it does, you definitely have a faulty cd

otherwise, it could be a disk drive reading error

Checked, other computer works it fine.

    Possible outdated drivers?

    Hmmm,...

On a semi-related note, that CD is great for driving.

Personal favorite is Bright Morningstar, and of course Pirates remix is real good at the break around 4minutes in.

I would play it in my car if it didn't say "No Audio tracks available" when I put it into my cars CD player.

Alright so I tried it again, BSoD again.

This time I wrote down the error information.

Other then the usual paragraph of stuff that normally pops up this is what it said:

    Technical Information:
    *** Stop: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF2AD385, 0xA40E0B2C, 0x00000000)

    *** nv4_disp.dll -Adress BF2AD385 Base at BF012000, Datestamp 418c0584
Maybe a missing Invidia DLL file or outdated driver? I know nothing about computers but this is my stab in the dark...

There are a few different things I'd recommend. The first is replacing your driver, which--despite its working fine with other applications--may have gone corrupt somehow.

First, acquire new drivers for your card: download from Guru3D.com

Second, download and run Driver Cleaner Professional: Driver Cleaner Professional download from Guru3D.com

Third, open its Help file, and view the Readme, then follow those directions for removing your old drivers.

If you're still having troubles, and are willing to do this, try uninstalling any DVD or CD burning software you may be using. Of course, only do this if you are capable of reinstalling it, as I imagine you use it.
