Program/Client that lets you text with your PC (while cellphone is hooked up)

So I'm one of those people that doesen't like to text on a phone while at the PC all day and was wondering. Is there some kind of client out there I can hook my phone up to via PC USB cable so that I can use my keyboard/PC instead to type the SMS text? And then send via cellphone?

I've seen one person do this before but it was an IT admin at a local school I used to go to. And since I have unlimited text, this would be really nice and more efficient at the PC everyday -.-

    Thanks

When I'm at a pc I usually just add the numbers I text to on aim. Just add the number as a buddy starting with +1, then the area code + number. When they text back, it goes back to the IM window as well. I also use pidgin to keep all my IM services in one client.

I do this with my iPhone using a program on it called Veency (from Cydia), and a program on my PC called RealVNC. It works through wireless, so connect your iPhone to it, write down the IP, and in RealVNC punch in that IP and press connect. Veency should auto-start and ask you if you want to confirm an incoming connection. Press yes and you get your full iPhone screen on your PC!

I'll take a picture so you know what I mean, give me a sec.

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess it disables print screen when the program's open lol.

I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for but Gmail offers SMS through the google chat tool. It wouldn't use your cell phone at all, that could be viewed as a good thing (no charge on your phone bill) or a bad thing (won't come from your cell number so people might not know its you).

^The problem w/ it is that the person whom you are sending SMS needs to reply, else you won't be able to send again.
