Please read the thread. If these people were not using the glich in the 1st place they most likely would of already upped the drop rate for EVERYONE. I think that's why most of the salvage people that didn't know about the glich is pissed off at these players. SE uses a log to see how much is coming into the system (They used it to track people getting 3 usu body's in one run IE. impossible) You bitching about drops rates, but are supporting the people that made it so bad.

I read most of the thread here at work, slow day today. I think you misunderstood what I'm trying to say, like I said before; I don't think people who did this were in the right for doing it. I'm as pissed off as anyone for some of them having the whole Leet attitude and yes having 3 starter chests makes salvage a complete joke. But just because these guys were wrong doesn't mean SE didn't fuck up, you seem to have a decent knowledge about how this stuff works. They let people with 9 pieces walk away and banned guys for 1 or 2 items achieved this way. Hell some of those guys were just buying stuff without having any knowledge of where it came from.

About this thing, I honestly think it was a low priority job. If they had a team dedicated to doing a search this would not even take a week to complete, I've had to go through stored logs before to debug stuff this doesn't even look like a team (not just 1 person) spent over a work day over. Its not like they manually read the whole chat log for every server to see who did what. I just feel like they approached this thing completely wrong. IDK as someone said in the thread before it feels like a pimp slapping his whores for not paying him enough money, not a company and its clients. Oh we have noone here on our backward Server (Ramuh) banned at all just 1 person suspended and they are a server jump and I don't know him/her.

Why are you so angry for someone who didn't get banned. You seem to be taking this way too personal like they attacked you or something. My post yea, it did point out the stupidity in yours but it wasn't directly addressed to you. All the people who thought they'd never get caught look like fucking idiots but are probably some of the more quiet people now.

The more vocal people right now are those who can't accept the fact that A. It was an exploit and B. that they're banned. No body really cares whether or not your banned now, no amount of crying or saying what they SHOULD have done will change what they did. Whatever was the reason people exploited it is also irrelevant so stop trying to un-ban people with your suggestions because it obviously doesn't matter. This is nothing new for what they've done in the past and yet people seen really shocked by what happened, I mean they just about banned EVERYONE who used the Tav. Glitch save a few people here and there.

I'm posting because it's a bit funny about the amount of people complaining they got banned for exploiting the game knowing that it was an exploit.

You could be right with it being low priority, but i do think they were just trying to be accurate with who they were banning. I've had to look into thousands of pages of code just to find a / wasn't a \ before and it took me a while. Now think of it this way, a normal salvage group will do 3 to 5 runs a week avg. (Maybe but thats how most of the ones i know do it). times that over how many salvage groups are on a server, times that by how many servers there are. Then add all the nyzul runs random 6 man groups do a day, times it by server. Add in SW and you have a lot of logs to check. That would take months IMO.

Question how far is Foreal,Nin effect by this ban of their leaders and their members? I think it's been really crasy 24 hours i really didn't wish some good HNM ls in bismark to be this effect since i really look up to those LS.

Of course I will get laughed on because I just created an account to post.

In my group one person was confirmed to have been perma banned. That person only got 2 35s, and both of them were junk pieces. The pieces no one would really cry over. We were just astounded to know that the trick actually worked, and laughed at SE's loopy coding being used against them. Fight absymal drop rates with a taste of its own. I played with the fire too, here I am facing the consequences.

A few who just went to the runs as your everyday LS peons just for the kicks got slapped on the wirst with the warning email.

It seems mostly if you were involved in the breaking/forming sequence of the alliances, you were definitely marked as a ban, most likely a perma. Even if you were just there to help someone else in the group get items.

For those who are posting in light of trying to have the other honest players here feel bad for us who got banned, just please stop. Most that were unaffected do not care for our status and you're just feeding fuel to the angry lynch mob.

I trust there is a certain amount of meta-modding at work on bgboards, and that whenever someone gets infracted/banned there is a log of it where senior admins spend ~1hr a day going over it and deciding on more severe punishments/reversals should the circumstances call for it. No real need to ask DAK to become The All-banning Eye.

Found this on KI not sure if its 100% acc. but this is what was told to a banned person after hours of talking with mang.

-People who were alliance leaders during salvage runs in which the glitch was used, or organized the party disbanding were permanently banned
-Everyone who willingly went along on runs where glitch was used were temporary banned
-Everyone who went on runs unwillingly (or didnt say anything about glitch in chat log) were given a warning. People who didnt receive gear and got the e-mail saying they did - it was actually the chest items SE was speaking of.
-The ban complaint function is only there for people's frustration and to give the call center employees an exit when people are hostile. There has only been 1-2 permanent bans in the last 3 years that have ever been reversed.
-The reason some people totally avoided discipline- even after using the glitch for 2 years was because they didnt speak of it in chatlog (vent users I'm assuming)
-The 17 code can mean permanent or temporary bans - the 11 code is a billing or administrative issue


I'm sure on the second one it was only if done once or twice tho, as if a person that was never leader got a shit load of drops would be treated as leading a run type.

vBulletin is actually pretty good about making it easy. Up to individual board admins to make the process a public one or not, depending on their stance on public humiliation of the perpetrators.
