pit of saron on my dk, and a zone epic drops, 178dps dagger, 1.40 speed. perfect offhand, and my rogue is in bad need of new weapons.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU U
only done pit 3 times, so no clue. hope you're right.
i fucking hate pit of saron, it's 1 of the 2 instances that i would drop right away when i get it in random dungeon. other one being CoT.
sometimes u get hilt farming pt and shit, and sometime healer or tank just suck.
It's one of my favorite instance (I love non linear area).
I don't know how you can possibly be bad at it. There is like 3 pulls, a boss, 2 pull, a boss, 4 pulls and the final stretch. It's short and simple
Amazing, oneshot Marrowgar and Deathwhisper only to wipe twice on gunship. I didn't even know it was possible, yet we managed it. Gotta love it when you tell the hunter that he is in the away team that he doesn't dps the sorcerer because "nobody told him to" and he was "always on the home team".
On a sidenote: Mage at 67 and climbing, I wonder how fast I'll outdps all the retard dps in the guild, not that I'll ever go to raids on Mage since I'm the only tank that shows up consistently.
Who puts a hunter on the away team anyway, the pet is a liability for resetting battle fury and they're one of your better aoe classes for the dudes on your own ship.
It was a split second decision because somehow the away team there managed to have 3/5 people die (tank + 2 dps) so in order to still win since we were on the last frozen phase we had set some people on away team. But to hear afterwards that the hunter didn't even know the battle mechanics when we had people switch out for him for a reason I don't even know of (he signed up earlier? idk). His reasoning : I only do what I'm told to. Yeah, great way to blame it on the rest for not specificly spelling it out for him what he has to do, show some dedication and at least be prepared a raid you are joining.
Hey man, watching a video of a fight before you do it is hard fucking work man, give the guy a break!
Now where's my little sarcasm mark :/
i managed to blunder my way through gunship last week, just pew-pewing on the canons, i still dont know wtf your supposed to do, have you to shoot at the bronzebeard guy or what? its way too hard to watch a detailed video about it.
In the cannons you build steam power to 90+ the press 2. Rinse and repeat and anything spare you have before the deep freeze you press 2. Out the cannon, clear your deck then take out the riflemen on the other ship. Dont pewpew the other ships boss. The second the cannons unfreeze jump back in and start again.
It depends on your role. In simplest terms (there are more complicated methods to make the achievement and I'm sure we'll have to change things up a bit for heroic mode)...
Cannons have one job: blow up other ship. You press button 1 until your mana bar gets to as close to 100 energy without going over (or else you get "stunned" for 15 seconds; this equates to 90 energy, as anything more is a gamble) and then press button 2. You do all this while aiming at the mortar teams on the back of the ship to help kill them and keep their buffs from stacking up and making oneshot rockets happen. Ideally, you have two melee in the cannons, as ranged are more effective at aoe on the home team and can take down the sniper teams on the other boat without leaving your own.
If you're on the "home team", you dps down the adds that come onto your side of the boat. Sergeants (I think?) whirlwind and should be stood away from, everything else is fairly inconsequential. Every mob does get a buff at low health that lowers their damage taken by 60% or something like that, not really a big deal though.
The "away team" rockets over to the other boat ONLY WHEN THE CANNONS ARE FROZEN. This team generally consists of one tank and as many dps as you need to kill the single sorcerer who is in the middle of the boat channeling a spell (preferably your highest dps, the less time spent there the better...and your cannoneers are often in this team as well, since they're otherwise unbuffable/untargetable while in the cannons and having them take chunks of damage from the home team adds can be stressful). The tank goes first (IMPORTANT! the captain will oneshot anyone else) and picks up the opposing captain and just holds him at the edge of the boat; if the healers stand along the forward edge of your own boat the tank can be healed no problem, and the dps aren't taking any damage from the sorcerer anyway. Once the sorcerer dies, the dps all jump back, followed by the tank. The captain will reset (after throwing a few ranged projectiles out of spite, nothing to worry about) and the cannoneers will resume play. It's important that you kill the sorcerer and get off the boat as quickly as possible, as every few seconds the captain gets a stacking buff that makes him hit harder; enough stacks and he is virtually impossible to heal through.
The cannons freeze at timed intervals, and I presume mobs spawn faster on your boat over time, but we've never had a battle last long enough for it to be an issue.
(As an amusing aside, check out a shapeshifted druid with the rocket pack on. Feral forms get butt rockets 8))
Or you could just go for the easy achievement and have the away tank kite the pathetic boss and keep your away team over there indefinitely killing rockets/axethrowers/battlemage.
Like I said, it requires different strategy for achievement and such, but it's a higher risk. Judging from what I've seen, unless some nerf went into battle fury that I missed, you're running the chance of being oneshot not long after the first mage dies, and even if your cannoneers are super efficient it's going to take at least 3 mages to down the ship.
Yeah, I'm not buying that the achievement is all that easy, at least not in 25 man. I've been in a group that actually managed to wipe 25 man because the tank went over way prematurely and Muradin was basically able to two-shot him by the time we were jumping over for the second sorcerer.
For that matter, I kinda hate achievements that are tied to doing things in a weird way. So many achievements are simply about doing something efficiently (e.g., Boned and I've Gone and Made a Mess) and, really, the best way. Then there are others that are so totally non-intuitive that no one would ever find they existed if Blizz didn't explain how to acquire them in the Achievement pane. That doesn't really feel like an achievement so much as a chore. Since I'm insane and try to complete anything I can get my claws into, it bugs me to death.
On a related note, why have I not gotten the H ToC achievement in a month of running it? Why must people just stand there as six ghouls explode on them? Aargh.
