Neat, I like that Garrosh as a final boss.

It's all about the size to me. This is why I also consider Lich King an excellent final boss.

It's nice to square up with someone equal or slightly larger than you (unless that pic of Garrosh I underestimated the mode size)

Anything bigger (i.e Cthun, Kael, Deathwing) kinda sucks. I mean it looks epic, yes, but I don't take too much joy in that, especially at poking a omfgbig dragon's feet as a boss, or kael's knees.

EDIT: On second look, a Blood Elf is about as tall as Lich King's knees .... but still, not that much bigger, Kael and his mooks were a bit taller !

Yeah LK is pretty damn tall actually, pretty sure he's about the same as KT.

Thinking this guy is going to be considerably bigger. Not Yor'Sahj size, but not that far from it.

The sha will probably be bigger than fear, hard to say if it'll be as big as anger without seeing the area it's in.

Iron hawk gave -15% damage taken, which will drop to -10% in 5.4. It has to be specced in to, but for PVE it was the default choice for everything anyways.

Edit: What's everyone's experience with getting a dusty old robot from blingtron? I'm rank 10, 11/12 on all of the special fights, and have been trying each and every day to get this damn thing (26 days I believe?), and still haven't gotten it. Meanwhile there are people in my guild getting it in their first box, people getting it and not even knowing what the fuck it is, as well as people with the usual "lolz i gat anuthr1 2dy fram blinatran dat 5 nao!". Add to that the fact that some of these people have never even stepped foot into brawlers guild, or that they can't kill it because the mechanics are really hard apparently.

Readiness now finishes the cooldowns on Rapid Fire, Feign Death, Deterrence, Disengage, and Camouflage when activated (was all Hunter abilities with a base cooldown of less than 5 minutes).

What in the actual fuck? Hunter is already a bottom of the barrel DPS, and this sure as hell doesn't help any.

Backstory, we wiped on Horridon cause LFR. I mentioned that hero at the start was a waste because the fight doesn't even last 10 minutes. This guy proceeded to argue, tell me to kill myself, and all kinds of things people do when they're wrong.

Something is wrong with my deeps and I can't figure it out, I'm about to end up resorting to the EJ "fix my dps" thread lol.


I was fine for t14, did quite well for my gear levels, as DW frost. This tier I had good luck early and was tearing shit up as unholy, then it got nerfed and combined with some bad luck on loot I just fell way behind everyone. I had a week of decent luck and thought I was starting to pick back up, got a couple 50ish ranks the week before last despite being 8-10 ilvl behind the best geared people.

My blood dps is still pretty beast.

This week we were focused on lei shen. I actually sat out the first 2 days cuz we figured we wouldn't kill it and figured having good people out the first 2 days is a good excuse to have them in when it's time to really push the kill. Anyway, they'd mostly been messing with the 2nd transition, had been to final phase like once in those 2 days.

I came in on Thursday to dps, but had to go blood in the end cuz our monk no-showed. We were pushing final phase by the end of the night, had a couple 12-17%ish wipes

So Sunday the monk showed and we decided to do the same thing except me go dps and drop a healer to 2 heal it. Suddenly became easy as shit, killed it in maybe 6-7 pulls. Unfortunately, that was after a 5% and a 2% wipe... and my damage was absolute trash. Easily bad enough that those wipes should have been kills.

So Ra-Den I didn't look as bad, but still wasn't where I thought I should be...

So I spent the last day and a half simming my ass off... and no matter what I do I can't get myself to sim within 50k of what I get simming our lock in pretty damn similar gear. Tried 2h frost on Ra-Den last night and it was worse than unholy, though I'll probably try it again clearing through this week.


I'm really at a loss, I feel like I have to be doing something wrong for my numbers to look so shit, but then I run 50k iteration sims repeatedly and come up with consistent results that really are that shitty... I mean, my gear is pretty good and I put up a <10th percentile parse on lei shen, something is just not right there.

^my epeen page so you can see what I mean, if you look at my blood parses from this tier, and even my frost parses from early normals this tier, or my few dps parses from t14... and then compare that to my current tier unholy heroics it's like.... wtfbrox


and yes, I realize being in the bottom 10th percentile of people that have killed heroic lei shen isn't that bad, but it is when you have to make a credible argument for why you should be in for any given fight as a melee dps over X ranged or Y rogue, else make the decision to sit yourself

Death Knights in general are fairly low right now. At around 522 item level 2h frost is ahead of the other two specs typically(barring some crazy festerblight play, which doesn't work on every boss), and that's still among the 6th lowest ranking, the other two(DW frost and unholy) are both behind 2h frost. If you're at all behind your warlock in gear, you're probably not going to sim a comparable number no matter how many times you try, as Destruction, being the highest of their 3 at ~522, it's already about 20k ahead of 2h frost.

Unfortunately, if you're looking for a reason to bring a DK over just about anyone else right now for DPS, the only ranged you would be beating would be shadow priests and pretty much dead even with balance druids, both of which probably offer more utility than DKs.

That said, it doesn't really look like anything is wrong with your DPS, just the luck of the draw with where DKs are sitting right now more than anything.

not a huge difference in gear, and yeah I know I'm not going to catch him by any means, but I'm simming ridiculously far behind him, and my performance is not looking good these days compared to other UH dk

oh and I normally use normal feather instead of the twins trinket, just doing some experimenting

Oh, should have figured you guys were closer to BiS than 522 lol. Which makes things even worse. Demo's in the top 5, where as DK's occupy 3 of the last 4 spots, with only Arms Warriors sneaking in at 25th.

In comparison to other UH DKs, how comfortable are you with the festerblight stuff? On the fights where it works it's definitely a lot more competitive than any of the other options, but still falters pretty heavily just due to dumb luck or even a slight amount of bad play. I'm not anywhere near your gear, but I've gone back to 2h frost myself as unholy was frustrating me more than anything. Other times, it really just depends on what you're doing on the bosses. Particularly Heroic Ji-Kun, if you run with the one nest team for every nest but 2 and 8 or whatever it is, and you're comparing to DKs that get to sit on the boss, you'll certainly see the differences there.

We're only 1/13, but when I was doing Heroic Jin'rokh as unholy some fights I'd be pushing 240k and then others I'd struggle at 170k. Then went back to frost and parsed 190k pretty consistently. Death knights just aren't in a great spot overall right, someone's gotta be on the bottom yeah, but it's still annoying, especially when there is such a disparity between some of the specs. It's a big reason I'm bothering to gear up my rogue right now.
