Yeah, I gave the Magicka demo a shot, but I found the elemental spell system entirely too complex and ultimately awkward to control for how fast-paced and swarming dungeon crawlers can get. Seemed too slow.

Torchlight though, yes. Definitely close to what I was looking for... even though that art style is not my thing at all, but it is consistent and polished for what it is. I had heard the name a bunch but never ended up looking into it. Kinda' wish I didn't miss that 66%-off deal now. I looked into Din's Curse a bit, but in comparison to having just tried out Torchlight, it looked pretty bland and slowwww.

If only they chose a less obnoxious typeface for everything in Torchlight... and the item info boxes need some organization.

You could try looking into Titans Quest and it's expansion. It's a pretty unique game that's very very diablo ish. the art style is kind of similar too. It has like 8 roles that you can choose and then you can get a sub-role at lvl 10 or something so you can mix-match any class together with another

if you get bored it also has an INSANE modder where you can pretty much hack the game like crazy. Lvl ups give you a bajillion skill-points. enemies drop epic items like nuthin. that type of stuff.

I'd also suggest Titan Quest. It is a pretty fun game although it can get grindy (The centaur boss was a pain in the ass, and there are a few others, like the spider thing in Egypt.) however I did enjoy the game a lot despite that. You can also host games however it seems pretty dead online wise.

Aliens vs. Predator (2010) is $4.99 on Steam until Thursday... game has bad-to-ok reviews but for that price I grabbed it due to pretty screenshots

both Mafias & Magicka/Magicka complete pack are really cheap today too. i think i'd rather play the Mafias on a console though.

You can also pick who's getting your money, the developper or a charity.

Pretty good deal in my opinion.

still 2 days of 2kgames deals to go, any guesses what they will be? I picked up mafia 2 yd after skipping it for the same price a couple months ago, and I got bioshock 1 today(rented 2 and thought it was garbage next the the demo of 1 I played years ago...)

Gonna throw out a few of the obvious choices and say there will probably be a Civ deal and Borderlands deal. Possibly XCOM. I have Civ 4 and 5, so kind of hoping it won't be one of the days but I'm pretty sure it will, lol.

didn't really know where to put this but Amnesia: The Dark Descent now has an additional campaign (you have to update it via steam first) called Justine, a series of challenge rooms or something, for free. The game itself is currently 10 bucks too

Good call. They got Boarderlands for $5 now. I hope they do something with Civ still though.
