I stopped reading most of the last 3 pages. Is this thread still complaining about polearm sam and it being better than amano for merits?

Kclub average swings per round is 3.82 (assuming 5:15:25:25:15:10:3:2) resulting in an average TP per round of 26.74 (7tp per hit)

Soboro Average swings per round is 1.9 (assuming 30:50:20) even with only 15tp/hit (ie: no store TP), Soboro is going to get more tp per attack round. Factor in that you'd likely be getting somewhere around 17tp, depending on exact equipment used, that puts you at an advantage 5.56tp per round.

20% more TP per round vs 18% more delay.... (assuming the values of 138 vs 116 mentioned earlier are correct)

I've already done most of the WS math already, so I'll just copy/paste with a few tweaks. This math is against colibri with double min/dia3; if you want to redo with your own buffs/debuffs, knock yourself out.

Hume with full STR merits:
SAM/DRG- 74 STR 63 AGI
RNG/DRG- 68 STR 70 AGI

SAM WS gear (but replace Maat's with STR/WSACC/AGI/WSDMG Anwig; I've been told that this WS gear is for 5-hit Soboro)
RNG WS gear

SAM (with yellow curry buns):
STR 74+63 = 137
AGI 63+31 = 94

RNG (with squid sushi):
STR 68+45 = 113
AGI 70+29 = 99

Now calculate RATK. We'll presume that SAM has max archery merits and RNG has maxed marksmanship merits, and that we have double Minuet (2 BRD PT):

SAM:
246 archery + 68 from STR + 25 from gear + 114 from minuets + 85 from food = 538 RATK

RNG:
285 marks + 56 from STR + 62 from gear + 114 from minuets = 517 RATK

We'll use the standard G.Colibri and split the difference between LV81 and LV82 pops (with Dia3 applied):

SAM: (538 / 275) - 0.1625 = 1.79 cRatio
RNG: (517 / 275) - 0.1625 = 1.71 cRatio

For fSTR2, we use G.Colibri's 67 VIT.

SAM: (137 - 67) / 2 = 35, but Yoichi fSTR2 cap is 34
RNG: (113 - 67) / 2 = 23

Namas: STR_40 AGI_40 fTP 2.75
Slug: AGI_30 fTP 5.0

SAM Namas WSC is 76.
RNG Slug WSC is 24.

SAM: (D119 + 34 + 76) * 2.85 * 1.79 * 1.02 * 1.25 = 1489 (returns 25.0 TP? I guess)
RNG: (D141 + 23 + 24) * 5.1 * 1.71 * 1.02 * 1.25 = 2090 (returns 18.7 TP)

No not necessarily...I mean, if you sell gear to self-fund a relic, then you're looking at stats that are arguably ignorable. No HQ piece is groundbreaking to justify holding you back from getting a ground breaking piece. And yes, an Excalibur changes the way you play PLD. More so than an Aegis!

How much of an increase in performance does HQ Kaman yield over NQ? Now work it out as (improvement/gil). It's actually better to get a relic than to get a HQ Kaman in terms of cost effectiveness I am fairly willing to bet.

Valid point, though I know some pld that just fulltime cerb bow (nq or hq) and don't bother with kaman at all.

lamina kaman (+1) is one of the most overrated pieces in the game, 2 standalone mdb is entirely worthless. Plds should be using a goblin cracker, white tath or t.sting, hell even a hq lightning bow adds more

Valid point, though I know some pld that just fulltime cerb bow (nq or hq) and don't bother with kaman at all.

Even an HNMls leader has trouble convincing their LS to camp that one.
