I started this so long ago, it's ridiculous... but now, I'm finally able to post here. I'd like to thank those who endured this long quest with me - Lucent, Perryk, Sylfeya, Phoinix, Swaymae, Kitaa, Pyste, and I'm sure there are other names I'm forgetting that don't play anymore. You've had to put up with me talking about my progress on this thing for years. Now... you just have to put up with me talking about Mulcibar's Scoria for a little while longer.

I'm about to start my first relic quest (dagger) and would appreciate any tips on what would be the best way to go about farming gil to help with the daily grind of farming dynamis. As far as I know (I just returned) farming gil comes from dynamis and salvage II. I know VWNM can net some decent gil but a lot of times it's a coin flip on whether or not you wasted your time or got rewarded for it. However, if one were to suggest vwnm, which would you say is best?

Kaggen and Pil are most reliable from my experience. You almost always come out with 3 or more heavy metals from a 12 kill, and sometimes a 1m+ mat.

I can't honestly say it was that bad though. I've had brd shelved for a long time while I worked on this. Most the reclaimed space goes to new brd gear :/.

A friend of mine who created theirs along with me was playing actively without horn, so they were ecstatic at the prospect of more space.

I started this more many years ago but like many people gave up at the Alexandrite stage even though I completed every other objective. Last year SE allowed us to enter Salvage alone so I decided to give it one more push. 11 months later I am done. For anyone who cares, no, no exploits were used. In fact I bought less than 2k of the alex. I farmed with Badstreak and my mule Starcrossed daily.

I really wanted to finish this to honor all of the former FFXI who helped me with the objectives over the years, especially my own Salvage shell from 2008 to 2010. Doing original salvage more than 800 times taught me about perseverance with its wonderful 5% drop rate on 35s.

Paulus, Billeh, Jonnady, Jefant, Grenseal, Darkzell were among my main salvage buddies. I also want to thank all of the people who helped me lead the charge against the TAU Beastman Kings. Those things were EVIL back in the 75 era.

Fiendish! It's good to see you again. If there was one corsair that inspired me to finish the weapon, it was you. I was kind of sad to see that you weren't on the game anymore!

I'm still struggling to get through the magian trials since I don't play full time, but I'm finally almost through the birds trial. I can't even imagine what these were like before they reduced the requirements. @_@ At least Leaden Salute builds amber light, so the abyssea farming sessions are profitable.
