New RMT exploit or gimmick?

Bunch of Taru RMT. They run out of the mog house in BastokMine to Proud Beard (Hume & Galka RSE gear seller) and then run back to mog house. They apparently are also randomly mistyping /


Now, Level 1 RSE gear can't be traded or NPCed, so I'm very confused as to what is going on. Any ideas?

Just checked, the RSE NPCs will buy from inventory. But still wierd that they would be NPCing something non-stop for a solid week.


EDIT: been watching the names change also. There is easily 50-60 characters they are using and rotating.

Uh.. this has been going on for months on Bahamut. And other servers too. Seen this mentioned alot, nothing happens to them, nobody knows what they're doing for sure.

They're trying to repeatedly spam trades and sales and stuff to try to fool the thing that tracks all trades made, the thing they implemented with the RMT-Pwner and the Gilded Tomb and all the other terribly named things. I got 4 Ghysal Greens, and a friend of mine got an ice crystal by spam trading them.

Don't think you can NPC the coupons, and he isn't one of the ones you can trade it in to.

Spamming trade on them they will try to give you seeds and water crystals and shit, that's why there are so many water crystals on bastok AH.

I can completely lock them down though with 3 accounts and spamming trade on 2-3 of their people :3. Can't do jack shit until i let off or they use open mog to trade i guess, can you trade in open mog?

LS member reported this to a GM a week or so ago, and was told that they were aware of it, and that the players in question were somehow manipulating their .DAT files. My guess is, RMT found something NPCable that is stored client side. No proof, but it's been going on for a few months now at least, and there does seem to be an upward crawl with inflation lately...

Meh, probably just BS. Does make you wonder, though.

After reading this I went over there to check it out. The first one I saw, I tried to trade and he filled me up with greens and whatnot. It's the stuff in the ss that I sold. We then had a somewhat humorous exchange:
