New RMT exploit or gimmick?

Ah ok. Well there are about two or three separate rmt families right now going in and out in bastok, one does anon with "naming convention" of no legible format. The others are keyboard smash names but not anon and less organized. The anon, naming convention ones are doing the "go to the left" pattern and they have many many accounts. Last time I sent in a report there were so many out that they were lagging the zone.

GM's immediately say to email report it to stf when it is over 5 names so I do not bother the live GM's anymore unless it is something they can deal with on the spot. One other thing, every time I have reported to a live GM, I made a point of asking them if I should continue to report this kind of thing to STF when I find the time and see it.

It reminded me of the vids I have seen of RMT in End game areas where gil-worthy mobs are, so maybe that is what you mean by Sky?

"Ant hill" is a perfect way to define the way it feels just passing through that area. I have even seen them using Flee tools of some kind. With the explorer moogle, the OP Warp and Dynamis, it's ridiculous trying to go through there when it's during international business hours. They just pour out...like ants lol. No effort to obscure their activity, total confidence that nothing will be done.

I suggested that they focus on it as well, to the STF in an email. They could be leaving them active to follow the gil trail to the source. Problem is they cannot do anything until they break rules or "interfere with someone's ability to enjoy the game", which they do for me so I avoid Bastok as much as possible unless I want to choose to ignore it or put aside an hour writing names.

Or if they catch them sending the gil to a gilseller or any other violation on the spot. Mass generation of naked, smash-named characters who garden/vendor farm is not illegal to do in game but it is possible to consider it suspicious activity.

It is possible that lagging the zone is disruptive to other players. Also its possible that they might be using some exploit like others have mentioned in this thread. So those last three things might be significant enough for an insta-jail but I have not seen that happen in my many GM calls reporting Bastokan rmt.

If they cannot stop them, they should perhaps move that poor berated Galkan npc or ban gil return on trades from him specifically. He is just an RSE dealer.

it's very simple to solve this method of RMT money generation. limit trial accounts to 1 pot instead of 10 per char. 90% drop in efficiency nearly. that will send them packing.

Or, how about not letting trial accounts garden or fish. Because I'm sure both of those are high selling points for people trying to get into FFXI.

I suppose people will find a way around anything whether good or bad. No matter what SE does, when there's opportunity, RMT will be there. It's like
this no matter the case...

Enjoy the game as you enjoy life itself. SE makes it tougher for them and eventually catches them. I for one vote on having a free gaming experience even though GMs work hard and a well eared pay-check.
RMT on the other hand have to live off the game as well and off players who just want to pay to get through. It's a matter of cops and robbers online, just another game within a game...

I noticed that one of the brosale tells I got last night was from an Asu(xxxxxxxxxxx). Think they have gone back to server named prefixes?

Also I got another tell from a mashed keyboard. With.text.like.this linking to another website. I didn't have the chance to report it as I was exp'ing at the time.

no can't, but something about shitty network code allowing them to harvest plants in someone elses moghouse but it doesn't empty the pots so it can be harvested over and over. Guessing they wrote some program to do this.

I was told this by some guy on game who said he works for some security people contracted by SE to find security holes in ffxi. He says they tell the devs whenever they find this kind of shit and just hope that they are smart enough to fix it.

I actually believe this. Theres some guy on my server who day in and day out enters and exits other characters mog houses. I saw him do this for upwards of an hour after one Dynamis-Bastok, even sending me tells of "cao ni ma" for some reason, I guess I blocked a npc or something? I dont know.

Theres definitely some exploit at work here though, no question about it.

They banned my gardening mules, I had 4 accounts, 1 main, 3 gardening. 62 gardening mules(1 storage mule). And they didn't ban my main account, so i still have 14 mules. They must mistake me for RMT, I have to wait til monday to call them though.
