Hello all. I used to have a character on Seraph, hopefully still do, but I see that Seraph is gone so I have a question. Will my character be placed on some server of SE's choice or will I get to choose from among the remaining servers? Now assuming I get to choose does anyone know of a server with a large concentration of players from the old Seraph server. I had to stop because for some reason my password changed and I could not find my book from my original install. I thought it was destroyed when the sump pump failed during a heavy rainy period. But I recently found it and after comparing what Bard, my favorite/main almost always asked for by the LS, on FF14 and FF11 I decided that if I could get my old account going and all my gear, etc. had not been sold/ripped off to try a comeback after 3 years off. Just think how behind I will be with only 6 jobs at level 75. Heck I still don't know if I need to do some new level breaker with Maat.

Thanks in advance for any advise you might have on servers.

Hello BG peeps! I have recently been thinking about my past in FF11 between 2000-2009 and remembering the good times and how it was before I retired. As with many members & friends in our Japanese/English linkshell, real-life commitments, work or family became a focus for us. For me it was work, but also the lack of familiar faces in our circle.

I am a player of the old ways, and am uncertain about the new. I left around the time Al'Taieu became mainstream and just before the Abyssea era, I think.. Shantoto's something something? In any case, I felt lonely after a while as I am of GMT timezone and much of my NA and JP friends & activities didn't work with me as people fell away.

For a time, I left my accounts suspended and paid for them without playing, sort of like quitting smoking, but always was tempted to just idle online, craft, fishing or soloing. So I decided to be more stern with my addiction and gave away everything I owned to those friends and linkshell remaining - sort of a charitable gesture to my departure - it felt good but sadly definitive. Then the heartbreaking deletion of my characters. RIP.

Now, years on, I came across this little japanese video titled "A Little FFXI Story" on YouTube (originally a flash slideshow), which needless to say made me VERY emotional and nostalgic. Since then, I have been listening to all my FF11 soundtrack CDs even at work and reading BG forums about returning players and weather or not it is worth it in this day and age, considering FF14 is on the rework.

Recently I have been playing TERA to fill my MMORPG Fantasy fix. It's "okay" but no legend like FF11 could possibly be. I have been gearing up for Blade & Soul but also FF14 has recently been appearing on my radar and tingling my taste buds. But I have decided to play FF13 & FF13-2 on PS3 fully just to quench my FF appetite for now.

Despite all of this, I cannot help but still feel drawn to FF11 and everything that world had to offer. I am still reading a lot of the threads but have yet to make any decision. Do I restart? Will I find friends? Will I feel welcomed? Will the systems be so different they are off putting or perhaps exciting? Is it worth it when FF14 is around the corner.

If anyone can help me, or is in the same boat or even would like to make friends and chat about old time and new, please PM me or something - no doubt I am new on this forum and wouldn't want to break any rule with posting contact details publicly.

New to the site. I played FFXI when it first dropped on the ps2 but my father wouldn't pay the monthly service fee< i am just jumping back into it now with new accounts,
I came along looking for version update feedback, and decided it'd be a good idea to become a member.

Anyone willing to toss me tips or give me feedback on anything will be greatly appreciated.
