    Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) will have a new nemesis for season four of the hit serial killer thriller Dexter - multiple Emmy-winner John Lithgow.

    Spoiler: show

    According to EW.com's The Ausiello Files, the 3rd Rock from the Sun star will play Walter Simmons, a gentle-seeming chap who relocates to Dexter's neck of the woods to escape pursuit by the FBI.

    The reason: Walter is actually the Trinity Killer, a very prolific serial murderer who slays his victims in threes. FBI Special Agent Frank Lundy (Keither Carradine) is closing in, forcing Walter to move to Miami.

    Lithgow has apparently signed on for all 12 episodes of the season.

    Dexter's fourth season will begin on Showtime in the United States on Sept 27.

    I love me some Dexter.

    Jimmy Smits was just amazing last season. He stole the show in every scene he was in. Will be great to see Lithgow in the next serial killer role.

    I think he'll be a nice addition to the show. Dexter seems like it may again, 1up the previous season.

    ^ Miguel was such an awesome character. And I agree, seeing Lithgow in this kind of a role should be interesting. He's got big shoes to fill after Jimmy.

    Season 3 is way better than 2. I didn't like Season 2 very much because it put a lot of focus on the bald, black dude who was my least favorite character. Jimmy Smits' character is astounding.

    Doaxes was fucking awesome. I liked season 2, but season 3 for me is still better. They both have those amazing confrontations and extremely tense moments. I'm hoping for another preair episode leak of season 4. I need my fix.

    Season 2 is definitely the worst one. But Doakes is the fucking man. Season 1 was my favorite because of the whole story to it, but Smits was amazing in Season 3.

    I liked Season 2 I was always on the edge of my seat to see if Dexter was going to get caught. Its a tie for me between Seasons 1 and 3. I miss Binny Q.Q.
