PSN games?
I always hear the PSN has a great selection, so, almighty BG, enlighten me. I've been quite bored lately, and there have been no major game releases to satisfy me (I'm sick of the free-roam genre, i.e. Prototype/Infamous. It's going the way of the FPS at this point).
-
Bionic Commando Rearmed is pretty solid for an old school fix.
-
Ah, let me include one stipulation: They've gotta be exclusives. I have an xbox, so any good cross-platforms I've probably already played.
-
Super Stardust, Wipeout and the Pixeljunk games then maybe?
I would recommend the demos at least.
-
Pixeljunk monsters
Echochrome
Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
I didn't like Pixeljunk Eden, but a lot of people did.
-
The Last Guy, Flower, PixleJunk Monster, PixleJunk Eden, Warhawk, and flOw are all good.
-
I really liked Pixeljunk: Eden.
Savage Moon is a great tower defense game.
Echochrome is kinda fun, for a while.
and whatever you do, DON'T download Linger in Shadows, it's not even a game lol
-
Hard to justify $10 for it given its short length, but my vouch would go towards Flower.
........and Super Stardust HD w/ the Solo expansion. (can't get enough of Survival mode)
Zen Pinball isn't half bad which came out recently, but it's probably best to try the demo on that one first to see if you like its feel. (aka, ball physics)
Anyone played Blast Commando? Been thinking of picking it up.
-
Isn't Fat Princess PSN? If so, get that when its released soon.
-
anyone played Flock yet? I've heard decent things about that too
tbh the game I'm most looking forward to on PSN is Trine
Joystiq hands-on: Trine (PSN)
-
flock looked cool but its overpriced imo so im not picking it up
-
Suikoden (if you haven't played it yet)
Pixel Junk Monsters
Super Stardust HD
Wipeout HD
echodrome
The Last Guy
Lumines Supernova
Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer
I know I am missing some but I will update it once I go through my list of games.

$12 for a low-content edition of Worms isn't much in my opinion, especially when the 360 is getting a very-well bolstered new Worms title in the near future that trumps it, and likely for the same price.
(also that it took Team17 nearly two months to fix bugs in the game that were obvious within the first 30min of gameplay)
-
Pixel Junk Monsters
Pixel Junk Eden
Pixel Junk Shooter (whenever it comes out :3 looks awesome though!)
Flower (a bit on the artsy side, but really cool)
If you like the "WTF" factor in katamari check out Noby Noby boy.
-
Zen Pinball, since you can play your own music, and it's fun.
-
Tekken Dark Resurrection, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo (might also be on XBOX Live, not sure) are some I haven't seen mentioned yet. Already mentioned but very recommended are Wipeout HD, The Last Guy, Pixeljunk Monsters, and Ratchet and Clank.
And yeah, Fat Princess is right around the corner, which should be awesome. There's also the large assortment of PS1 classics available for download.
-
Thanks to everyone who recommended Super Stardust, having a lot of fun with that one.
-
For the price, Wipeout HD is amazing. Zen pinball, Bionic Commando and Flower are also well worth the purchase.
-
If you have a PSP, you can get Patapon 2 and Jeanne D'Arc off PSN. Both worthwhile if you're into the respective genre.
If you're into old school stuff and don't already own the originals, FF7 also came out recently and Wild Arms/Suikoden are always fun.

Master of blackface Range Rover beer bottle throwing.
I have a ton of PSN games, minus a few that didn't interest me (like Brain Age etc). So feel free to message me with which ones interest you and I can give my honest opinion of them.
But a few I would recommend, but really depends on what type of thing you are in to:
SuperStarDust HD (great shooter, multiplayer)
The Last Guy (fun game, but gets VERY hard on later levels)
Flower (amazing visuals, and does a good job stirring emotions)
Calling All Cars (A fun little game, good to play with friends)
Pixeljunk Monsters & Eden (Pixeljunk series have a good reputation and are very fun)
Crash Commando (2D shooter, fun game to mess around with)
WipeOut HD (Lots of content, and comes with possible Platinum trophy, however it is very hard to get it)
Savage Moon (If you love tower defense games, this is a good choice)
Comet Crash (Again, tower defense game, but this time you attack back! I enjoy this game a lot)
Rag Doll Kung-Fu (A fun game to play with friends, not so much solo)
Bomberman ULTRA (It's Bomberman!!!)
High Velocity Bowling (If you like these types of games, it can be a lot of fun, multiplayer/online also)
Wolfenstein 3d (Old skool fix!)
Zen Pinball (I've always loved pinball games, so I am slightly biased, but it comes with 4 tables and is a decent game)
Age of Booty (Found it to be a lot of fun, a little pirate ship strategy game)
Games I've bought and regretted:
Blast Factor
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Puzzle Quest
Noby Noby Boy (weeeeeeird game, but I bought it to support the creator, he's an awesome guy)
-
how can you not like super puzzle fighter? =(
-
I liked Age of Booty (the pirate game) alot as well.
-
Master of blackface Range Rover beer bottle throwing.
Don't know how much Super Puzzle Fighter is now, but when I bought it (well my wife bought it), it was $10, definitely not worth that, lol. Fighting Akuma was fun though, I guess
EDIT: Yeah Tyche, I thought it got somewhat overlooked. Especially fun to play online against friends, and the story mode is actually pretty challenging and a lot of fun, although it is a little short

Is there a website that lists the PS1 games that are on PSN? After using VC on my Wii and XBL arcade, I'm getting spoiled with just downloading to my HDD and not being bothered with hooking up older system. I'm curious as to how many good PS1 games there are on there.
-
there aren't a whole lot, at least not compared to what's available in Japan.
List of PSOne Classics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sadly, the only RPGs currently available in the US are Wild Arms, Suikoden, and Final Fantasy VII. Supposedly FFTactics will be released soon as well, as it just got re-certified by the ESRB.
-
Thanks for that list. I certainly see plenty I'd be dropping money (hello first three Crash games). Sad to see so many RPGs on there I never got around to playing, but are only available in Japan
. And sorry for hijacking your thread Bob <_<

my brother and I both have PS3s and while its frowned upon, if I were to buy a game, could it be installed on both systems?
-
They just added FFVII and Gunstar Heroes
