    Here is the transcript of my chat with customer support:

    SEI POL Melanie R: They have decided to permanently ban this account.

    Me: what???? why?????

    SEI POL Melanie R: All they've given us is violation of terms of service.

    Me: then let me speak with a supervisor please

    SEI POL Melanie R: My supervisor has no more information from what I already provided you.

    Me: then who has the information?

    SEI POL Melanie R: All they've given us office wide is violation of terms of service.

    SEI POL Melanie R: There is no one else that your able to contact.

    Me: somebody made the decision to ban my account, so somebody knows why it was banned.

    SEI POL Melanie R: The GM's and the special task force are the only ones that are able to ban account. From a banned account you are unable to speak with a GM and you can also not contact they special task force due to this issue.

    SEI POL Melanie R: Which is why I've said there is no one else that you are able to speak with.

    Me: if i call a GM in game fro ma different account can they tell me?

    SEI POL Melanie R: They will not discuss any account from another account.

    Me: let me speak to your supervisor please. i understand they cannot tell me why it was banned, but i would like to speak with them anyway please.

    SEI POL Melanie R: One moment.

    Me: thank you

    SEI POL Melanie R: I've been informed to submit a ban complaint for you and set up a call back as there is no supervisor available to take this chat at this time.

    Me: when should i expect to hear from them?

    SEI POL Melanie R: I can't provide you any ETA.

    Me: today? this week?

    SEI POL Melanie R: I can't provide you any ETA.

    Me: wow...

    Me: what number will they be calling me at?

    SEI POL Melanie R: The number that you provide.

    SEI POL Melanie R: I will also need your contact phone number.

    SEI POL Melanie R: Contact email address?

    SEI POL Melanie R: I have submitted this information.

    Me: not that i am aware of. i would say thank you, but i feel like this has been the least helpful interaction i have ever had with any company's customer support. SE sure does a wonderful job of driving paying customers away for no apparent reason.

I mean seriously wtf is this nonsense, if I get my account banned for absolutely no reason this is rediculous, I even asked the guy why would I need to be investigated.. I haven't broke any user agreement of playonline...
    Same thing, perma ban, not telling why... uh

    Did they tell you how long the investigation would take..? Not even gunna bother looking for my info if they are telling everyone this.

    no the guy gave no date or time.. hes like just try to login ur account every so often... lol wtf kind of help is that for customer support, so gm randomly decided to go ban people for fun or what? Shit how can u ban someone for sitting in there moghouse for 2 days doing nothing while at work trying to make due. SE is some crooked fuks I tell u what. First Im sitting here thinking o its just that CC crap again so its all good, now they wanna investigate... are u serious

    I called them and talk to accounts and the guy couldn't tell me why it was banned. All he told me was that I should look at the TOS rules and see why I was banned. I told him I know the rules and I haven't broken any of them so why I am banned? He didn't say anymore and told me to have a nice day.

    I am calling them back again right now and going to try to talk to someone different. I probably will keep bugging them until someone is able to give me a straight answer or able to do something about it. I have never gotten a warning, sent to jail, bought gil, used non-SE programs with it....so yeah, I like to know what in the hell I am banned.

    well this got one of my friends, again, that brings the lm-17 death toll of my flist to 18. amazing how it feels like they just come up and murder people huh ;; (maybe that's just my girl emos, it does feel like they die when they get banned though, thanks for killing my family S/E!)

    With this many people getting banned in a day its pretty obvious that they fucked up something yet again. They'll probably return your accounts after they investigate the situation.

    I haven't dealt with a bad SE rep, yet... but you do realize that sometimes they actually don't know what's going on. anyway...

    Dear Square-Enix Community (since you're reading this):
    Fix this problem with the credit card issues.

    Two of my friends got banned last night for no apparent reason-- one was just meriting in Bhaflau, the other was just camping Eastern Shadow (though his window didn't even start yet).

    You already have poor customer service and now randomly banning people for no apparent reason or cause is just downright incomprehensible and dishonest.

    This better change come FFXIV next year.

    If you have something to say, say it now because you need to grow a brain and a spine. No more of this "We are investigating the matter." No more of these dead end answers and vague to no responses from you. Since you can read these forums, you may as well answer us for this mistake.

    Well i'm glad SE is looking at the forums. My wife just got hit with this ban for no reason. She has played for 6 1/2 years runs a good linkshell and has never done anything wrong. She was hit last month also for the CC thing but now perma banned with no reason. This is just too unfair and to not even give a reason, well i thought at least you deserve a reason for what you supposely done. Very disappointed in SE ONCE again.

    According to a friend, this is because they didn't update their credit card info when this issue started last month with the Visa CCs issues.

    There is nothing in the ToS/EULA that requires you to keep your CC information updated unless of course your card expired.

    But, banning people for not updating your CC info and/or banning them because of a snafu on your registration servers is pretty irresponsible.

    Why pay these people money when they can act like this and feel they have no need to answer to anyone... a few of my friends got hit by this and its really making me question whether or not its worth to invest my time and effort any further into this game.

    I called back and was actually able to get a hold of someone who could tell me something. It was about the CC thing again and he said they had to go through my account history and check it and make sure the card I had on the account now was legit. They took my home number and e-mail address and told me they will be able to get back to me about it in the next day or so. Said it is likely they will turn my account back on, even though they did say it was not 100% sure. >.>

    It sounds like a number of people are now being told it is only temporary. But the person I spoke with specifically said the account had been permanently banned. Has anybody else been told this by SE?

    I wonder if last month's billing problems come before or after you got the Billing Reminder notice on POL? I am just wondering because the billing reminders get posted on 24-25th at least they have since march. If the issues today are billing, I am guessing that the billing notice/warning would have been posted first.

    Your rep was probably an idiot and just saw the LM-17(which were irreversible up until a month ago).

    While I'm not receiving an LM-17 I havent been able to login to my account since friday. Tried to login yesterday and received the message that my SE password or onetime password was incorrect. Tired 3 times. Tried to do a reset on SE account page and all I receive from them is "U3F1YXJlIEVuaXggQWNjb3VudCBNYW5hZ2VtZW50IFN5c3Rlb Q0K". This is just a small sample, it goes on for several thousand more characters. Tried the PW reset tool 3 more times all contain the exact same gibberish. I'm at work right now but will call support when I get home.

    ***update***
    after talking to SE, I was told their SE password reset tool does not work with GMAIL or AOL and was advised to forward mail from them to another email address. After doing so I I was able to get read the email and use the reset tool. I have now found out its not my SE account password but my token. Tried 3 times and each time it told me that the token code I entered was incorrect. gotta make another call....

    yea i got LM-17d also was hoping it was a roll back issue but i called once and the dude said it was permit i didnt even do anything..lol so i called back and the dude said the same thing ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( but he um sent them a thing for a unban shit dude said i would retrive a email if they going to unban it i hope they tell me i did ...lol soo much shit gone if its perm banned :C

    I have no idea what the fuck anything after "yea i got LM-17d also" was supposed to mean. I'll just assume you said what everyone else in the thread did.
