Otherwise sorcerers would be toting around plate and confusing the fuck out of everyone when the 'supposed' templar in the distance lights your ass on fire.

Macros in this game are useless. Can't even macro skill chains successfully because of the shitty "You started using/finished using a macro" messages.

Yea, the macro system is pretty crappy and slow in responce time, nothing like ffxi. The only thing I can reliably use it for is single commands like /Follow [%target] for 2boxing

Maybe it's just my ping on C-aion, but i haven't been able to make a macro longer than 2 abilities, for solo grinding.

You can set so many abilities and items on the hotbar I've never needed to make a macro anyway.

I'm trying to decide which classes to focus on during the open beta to better choose a class to play at release and have a couple of questions. I'm down to gladiator, templar, ranger, assassin, or possibly cleric.

How well do gladiators tank compared to templars? I'd like to play a damage class primarily, but would love the option to tank well.

limited duration (most durations are lower then the recast time) the one exception is a higher level stimga called Shadow Walk, it's a 3min cooldown but has a 5min duration

Hide I : 20-40 sec (60sec cool)
Hide II: 40-60sec (60sec cool)
Wind Walk: 10-20sec (30min cool)
all durations are random except Shadow Walk so..

I honestly don't use hide much unless some high level cleric temp glad chanter is around, cause that'll usually buy me time to gtfo. but I'm only lv34 and just got Hide II, so we'll see how that changes things abit.

as for Glad and Templar, I already covered it abit in the class to/not play thread. but Glads tank well enough on any elite mob, I've had zero issues working with glad tanks in elite exp partys. Templars are desirable for both elite and higher mob tanking ofcourse, but never underestimate a templar's damage. They hit much harder (imho) then most game's tanks.

Played a bit of open beta today and was pretty disappointed with my computers performance, anyone have any issues with running aion through steam or should I consider updating my video card? Fps ranged from 40-60 @ 1680*1050 with only textures and environment maxed with all field of view options at their lowest. Also not using AA or bloom.

Processor is a quad core Q9300 @ 2.5, video card is an 8800gt and I have 4 gigs of ghetto ddr2 (3.2 as I'm too lazy to install vista 64 -.-)

Was thinking of maybe getting an ati 4850 but any suggestions would be appreciated

That kind of sounds about right for a 8800. I'd say get a 4870 or it looks like the gtx260 is an even better bang for the buck now. If you got cash to burn go higher.

It looks like you have about the same setup as I do except for instead of an 8800 GT I have 2x9600GT in SLI.

I'm running everything with max settings AAx2, bloom #3 as I think that looks best, sharp but not bright. I'm getting 60-80fps at all times. In full screen-windowed mode.

Keep in mind that most monitors don't display over 60 hz (Just checked and mine is set to 59 hz) anyway so even though it shows 80-100fps and people say they are getting that in region chat; you aren't. It's capped at whatever your monitor is showing.

The continuous restarts of the game cleared my quickbar menus. I redid almost all of it except the "return" button. For the life of me, I can't find it in any menu including the Actions tab of the Skills menu. Anyone know where it is?
nvm someone told me where it is, found it under Active


@neg939, depending on your budget, the 4850 is good, but if you can spend more, i like my gtx 260. I'd also recommend trying to OC your cpu to 3ghz.
