EU sadly but it's a key
Well this is going to lag like hell for me but whatever
Hopefully NA version soon
Gonna try it. It did look just like an mmo GTA, but w/e. Any one got any comments to make about the gameplay?
damn i'm kinda regretting doing this, EU site is slow as hell, download is even slower.
No kidding. Downloading at DSL speeds here.
yeah screw this, i'll wait i guess for an NA version to pop up somewhere.
i can't even log into the EU website. It just times out for me each time i try
so yeah, the specs that are listed on the website aren't the same as the ones required to run the game. Figured i'd red flag this cuz its a problem.
Here are the specs as found under the FAQ on http://www.apb.com/faq/#q3
Core 2 Duo 2Ghz or equivalent
2GB RAM (3GB for Vista64 / Windows 7 64)
nVidia GeForce 7800 - 256MB or equivalent
20GB Hard disk space
Headset and microphone recommended.
Broadband internet connection required.
This is what is found down under.
* Core2 Quad 2.4Ghz or equivalent
* 4GB Main Memory
* Geforce 8800 512MB or equivalent
* 20GB free disk space
* XP 32 & Vista 64 (Vista 32 not yet advisable)
Limiting factor for me is the CPU, i'm running a Dual Core @ 2.26 Ghz. On a laptop so i can't overclock.
Figured id let this be known for anybody wanting to beta test this before release. Obviously the specs will be lowered for the release version.
edit: had no idea i double posted sorry lol
in other news, everybody should be excited for when this game is finished and released. that is all.
Awww hell no fuck this game now
http://www.apb.com/faq/
I was excited for the game but no this is stupid as fuck.You can purchase a retail version of APB either in-store or via digital download at standard retail price (SRP $49.99/£34.99/€49.99). The game includes 50 hours of action game play out of the box plus unlimited time in APB's social districts customising, socialising and trading on the marketplace.
Once your game time is up, you have flexibility to top up your action game time from as little as $6.99 (£5.59, €6.29) for an additional 20 hours, while more frequent players can switch to a 30-day unlimited package for only $9.99 (£7.99, €8.99) with discounts available for 90 and 180 days.
The retail package also contains a bonus 100 RTW points towards your next purchases.
An additional benefit to this evolutionary model is the ability for you to convert your own customisations and rewards to tradable products to give to friends or clan-mates or to place on the Marketplace to earn more RTW points (convertible to game time) or in-game cash. Check back later for more details
It sounds like you can trade in-game items for playtime or am I missing something? Can't you do something similar in Eve Online?
aside from the fuck up on euro-dollar conversion (which i'm sure they will fix) the system should be fine.
A very large majority how well your character is is all skill, smaller part coming from guns. So if a nub decides to buy RTW points and gets the best weapon off the market hes prolly gonna suck.
At first i was really wtf @ this system, but after i read through it and thought about it its gonna work out well. This kind of thing works for EVE and it completely deters against RMT which im sure was an important decision. And honestly if people are gonna spam buy RTW points that just means a saturated market and more free game time for me.
@Insanecyclone you forgot an important post about how manufacturing custom made items will cost a tiny amount of RTW points to deter against random bs flooding the market.
In the EU beta with my friends for this. It's pretty interesting. I think the game will weigh heavily on the community though. If people arn't out causing a disturbance or arresting people it can get boring really fast. The character creator though is awesome to play around with. Clothing and weapons are unlocked by doing missions for certain groups and ranking up.
I got in late to the beta and it feels like I can't really do anything as whenever an APB comes up, I get gun downed within seconds, and then respawn to die again and again. My weapon is absolute crap but i'm not high enough rank to get a new one. Also aiming is horrid imo due to player lag and the weapons themselves. It's hard to hit someone that's moving (almost impossible) and if you stop to aim they are just going to gun you down for standing still.
Pretty much all of the criminals on my server have joined some clan called "TNBGaming". This sucks, because they've started to distribute aim bots to each other. They don't even try to hide it, and openly admit to using them. Kinda turned me off to the game.
It would be awesome if all my missions that matched me up against other players didnt match me up against players 200 ranks higher then me carrying bazookas and super fire rifles with perks for super health and super damage...I really hope they fix the matchmaking shit in live.
Also I really don't like how the character I create in the editor doesn't look the same in game due to the Unreal glowy bloom shit around me.
i got turned off of this game really quickly, i was/am in the beta; matches became just a flashy game of hide and seek. all the gameplay felt really repetitive so i haven't logged in for a playtest for weeks.
