I picked up ME2 from the Origin humble bundle recently. I've been told ME1 isn't "needed" to play through the series (because it's boring) but I'd like to have all of them and I do like to go through the entire story no matter how boring it may be. I think if I were to buy 1 & 3 separately (at a sale price) I'd only be saving like a dollar so I may jump on this.

ME1 is boring action wise, but RPG wise it's my favorite. It also builds on the universe a lot better than the last two sequels imo.

You certainly got around. There was a lot of "content" in ME1 via collectibles and whatnot. It's a very good game if not a little grindy.

The worlds had substance though. Exploration was a much bigger theme, and it didn't feel like you were exploring small boxes and corridors like you felt by ME3.

But you had to deal with the Mako. Replayed the series 5 minutes into the Mako. "Hmm this isn't that bad." Ten minutes later "Holy shit fuck this fucking thing."

Mako literally keeps me from ever replaying ME1.

I never had a single issue with the Mako on the PC release. Was there something fucked about it on the console versions?

That's funny since most people enjoyed the mako and wanted it back lol never cared one way or the other personally.

I never got used to the mako controls on the Xbox, and didn't really care for the whole exploration thing. It was always a matter of just hitting all of the nodes or whatever to get resources.

This is not even remotely true. They wanted the idea of vehicle exploration back. Almost nobody enjoyed the clunky controls of the Mako.

I'm convinced that was just a gamespot/giantbomb thing. Either way we're getting some ground exploration back and the mako's coming along so fuck the haters.
