WHAT LEVEL DOES RANGER GET PETZ?
WHAT LEVEL DOES RANGER GET PETZ?
Rangers don't get pets here like WOW. Instead, a ranger must rely heavily on kiting, jump shooting, rooting and stunning abilities. It sort of make ranger incredible at soloing. You'll be able to kill mobs way higher than you.
Edit: You also get a variety of defensive abilities if you get caught in a tight spot. Those abilities range from immobilizing traps to abilities that will increase your evasion significantly or ensure that you have a 100% evade rate on an attack. There skills that can aid you should you need to make a hasty retreat. Also, there is no dead zone for range attacks/abilities should you get cornered. In short, you don't get a pet, but you hardly need. If you use your abilities and play with skill, you can solo kill many things without even being touched.
Since there is a lot of discussion of stigma skills, I'll post some findings! (I'll throw the scrutiny on this by saying I'm only 23. So it's just a compilation of information, with a little opinion.)
1. Arrow Deluge: Level 20- Works for a DPS boost at lower levels, but will be replaced. Not too good at AoE damage. Needed for Lethal Arrow.
2. Sleep Arrow: Level 20- One of our CC skills, and amazing for PVP, groups, links, etc. From what I've seen and heard, both this and Silence Arrow (25) are the two stigma skills that we can't go without.
3. Retreating Slash: Level 22- Decent, but it has rubber banding issues (as previously mentioned), and later on takes up a valuable slot. If you're going to set this, I highly suggest getting Heart Shot later on.
4. Silence Arrow: Level 25- Get it. Makes mincemeat of casters.
5. Snare Trap: Level 28- Near instant cast. It apparently works wonders as a stun.
6. Bow of Blessing: Level 28- Seems to be a straight buff to DPS. +20% for a minute, cooldown of 3.
7. Trap of Clairvoyance: Level 31- Haven't heard too much about this, but we get Hunter's Eye (also sees through hidden things) at level 31 too.
8. Breath of Nature: Level 34- Apparently is very nice as a prereq for Heart Shot.
9. Trap of Slowing: Level 37- More survivability is a-okay in my book. Instant cast. Binds. Prereq for Speed of the Wind.
10. Sniper Stance: Level 37- Seems a bit underwhelming. You also lose the ability to kite.
11. Focused Shots: Level 44- Yes. Doesn't activate on auto-attacks. Straight attack boost. Pair with BoB for win.
12. Gale Arrow: Level 45- You gotta set Retreating Slash and Breath of Nature for this. If you got this, might as well get Heart Shot.
13. Speed of the Wind: Level 45- For Heart Shot. Apparently scrolls work just fine for movement speed.
14. Explosive Arrow: Level 45- Extreme DPS boost. Most suggest setting BoB and Focused Shots anyways... so...
15. Hunter's Might: Level 45- Requires Arrow Deluge. Prereq for Lethal Arrow.
16. Beastial Fury: Level 45- Ah, this one has sparked so much debate. "For 1 min, the Atk Range of bows decreases by 15m while Physical Attack increases by 50% and Atk Speed increases by 20%." The attack boost is apparently only for auto-attack, where as the range subtraction is for all skills (Except Stunning Shot and one other, strangely enough.)
17. Nature's Resolve: Level 47- Wow! This is nice! Wait, what? 10 minute recast?
18. Holy/Darkness Arrow: Level 50- Huge damage, and apparently doesn't miss as often as one might think.
19. Heart Shot: Level 50- Amazingly high damage, fast recast, high chance to crit. Only downside is the prereqs.
20. Lethal Arrow: Level 50- Eagle Eye Shot much? Just note the two second cast time. And the prereqs. Otherwise really nice.

(Personally, I'm going with Snare Trap, Bow of Blessing, Focused Shots, Sleep Arrow, Silence Arrow, Trap of Slowing, Explosion Arrow, and Holy Arrow.)
Aion is a new game, thankfully, we can do whatever we want with stigma skills. Find what works for your own style.
But sometimes you want un-interrupted run speed and on top of that you don't want to have 33% uptime @ crit softcap it will lower your overall DPS.
There IS a speed cap I just dont know what it is.
I was using Tactical Retreat, Mau Form III, 21% boots, Postal(3%), 30% scroll, and chanters 30% run speed DP move and the other 2 people were able to keep pace with me with just the title, boots, buff, and scroll.
There is a cap its just higher then 50% which I thought it was originally.
Speed of the wind is also 10% damage
I would say movement speed caps at 70-75%. Would need to test it more for the precise percent. With 53% movement speed from boots, scroll and title, using Word of Wind (chanter 3k DP move, 20% movement speed) it does give a very noticeable difference in running speed, so I'd say you benefit from all of the 20% it gives. Past that point though, with you applying your mau form, it did not make you any faster than us.
edit: whoops I forgot to account for my chanter movement mantra, so bump that up to 80-85%
There any opinions on Heart shot vs the other adv stigma? Seems Heart Strike is the better route to go, but havent heart any debates on the matter
I've finally got it down since I last posted. I can do it 100% of the time following an Arrow strike and in Mau Form or with Arrow Flurry up I can do it with entangling shot as well. The trick is that it only works with the forward movement modifier up at the time of landing the jump (not a problem, since that is usually up anyway) With Arrow Flurry and Mau form up you can even fire off 3 abilities in one jump shot. (Arrowstrike > Entangling shot > Any other shot). Basically, you jumpshot Arrowstrike so that the 3 shots combine into 1, and then the moment you see your abilities light up again, hit the ability you want to use, and you will fire that shot with 0 delay after the arrow strike, making it look like you just did a double attack.
Its uses are limited to "looking flashy" in PvE though, as I don't think it really matters what speed you fire your abilities--they all have the same CD regardless. In PvP however, it can be pretty useful to catch an opponent off guard with a huge burst or an instant Sleep/Silence Arrow following the arrow strike. I'm only level 41, but I imagine starting at level 50, double attacking Gale Shot > Heart Shot would make for a pretty nice burst.
Ground movement speed caps at 12 on the info tab, celerity mantra is 1.0 increase on that tab.
Really really awesome trick. I tend to forget to buy new arrows sometimes because we can hold so many.... so sometimes I run out at terrible moments and have to ask people to express mail.
Instead, self express mail ahead of time and keep them there for emergencies![]()
Probably not.
On topic of the speed cap; there is still reason to go past the cap; when you keep going it increases your speed while stealthed.
I've run into a bit of a dilemma with keybinds--I don't have enough of them, pretty much. As of right now my keybinds are:
1: Swift Shot, 2: Entangling Shot, 3: Toggle Auto Attack, 4: Stunning Shot, 5: Silence Arrow, Z: Shock Arrow, X: Fleshcutter Arrow, C: Initiate Flight, V: Poison Arrow, B: Retreating Slash, G: Arrow Storm, T: Sleep Arrow.
7-0 are binded to buffs and the ones I don't use as often I just click. I like keeping the keybinds close to WASD for easy access, and for that same reason I prefer not to use CTRL and ALT+ keybinds.
So far it's been working out ok, but once I hit level 45 and 50 and I get all those new abilities, I don't think I know where I'm going to bind them. Maybe I should invest in a gaming mouse. I didn't really have this problem in WoW, cause there aren't nearly as many abilities that you use so often. Can anyone share their experience/solutions with this?
