MB set works great, especially with MB food and MP regen drink, and it only takes up 4 extra slots in my inv (shoulders, legs, body, necklace). The most I get hit for in KHQ is 2k from the elites' abilities, and I have almost 5k hp in my MB gear so death isn't a real threat. Best recommendation I can give is look for "best of both worlds pieces" if inventory is a problem - I use the quested blue accessories with HP and MB or HP and M.Acc., and picked up a crafted blue ring and earring with hp and m.acc. and use all those for everything. I have a blue neck that has hp and macc, and a green that has mb and macc that I use for solo.
The xp/time has dried up a lot at 40, and almost all the elites at Kishar are ranged, so not sure what elites I should be soloing for good xp now as an Elyos. I'm killing the water elementals in heiron for 40k/kill and they go pretty quick but shitty loot so far and pretty sure elites would be better xp/time. I do guards when I can too, but asmos on this server blow so it's pretty rare I can grind guards anywhere unless the baluar get frisky.
And yeah leather armor looks like shit all the way around to me. Cloth and chain both seem better for anything. It just seems to me like cloth is more rewarding than chain in every way - you give up 2-3 damage per hit taken for 20-30 magic resist per piece, a truckload of extra mp (lol, but it helps), and the same conc/hp/speed stats as the comparable chain piece has. Only downside is no one will let you roll for it, because clerics are healers which means that is all they do. Ever. Rite gaiz? Also seems like cloth is more likely to have the wonderful +hp AND +mb innate combo. Usually chain sets seem to pick one or the other.
As an aside, it hurts my head how every time stoning for MB comes up in cleric chat, someone always feels the need to point out that MB doesn't affect cures. WE KNOW. Fuck.
