Practice soloing elites on the Krall in Vereton before going into TG solo, and if one hits you, pretend you failed and try again. I would suggest bringing alot of instant heal pots for a hard swing connecting with you in TG. The main strat would be the same as most elite solos but actually easier as you clear more of the zone. The main difference is in TG there are no respawns, so the more of the zone you clear out the more room you have to kite with DoTs. You want to DoT one of the 2 in a double group, then pull him far away while keeping at least one DoT active. The other will follow with him, but he will soon after lose his interest, while the DoTed one will keep getting smacked in the face by the DoT and not lose interest as easily (but still can so you have to be careful, I have never tried soloing in this particular instance, I always had at least a ranger to help CC the adds while we killed one of the doubles.)

It would be infinitely safer, faster, and more fun to just bring in a ranger or sorcerer friend to help you do it. Extra CC, faster kills, and someone to keep you company can be very useful.
Thanks a ton for this info, I`ve seen them talking about kiting elites in the class channel too, but I really had no idea how that worked or the strategy. One question about that: do you have a pet out help kill them? Or just DoT kite?

pet just speeds things up, nice to have, but if it dies mid fight don't waste valuable time resummoning him. Wind works well on elites that can be stunned, but I have been doing high level kralls which all seem immune. Water spirit is nice because he keeps mediocre damage and manages to stay at range, one thing you'll notice is if an elite can't hit you with a skill he will take his aggression out on your little buddy if he is next to it, so I mostly use Water Spirit on them until I see reason to do otherwise. No to earth because he doesn't do all that much damage, and HELL NO to fire because the bitch will pull hate and die on the first specialty move you make him do...

I'm nearly 27 right now and so I'm focusing on gearing for PvP. Would it be best for me to socket magic accuracy as a lot of the furries I'll be seeing will be a higher level than me, or should I be socketing as much HP as possible so that I'll be able to survive longer?

On a related note, at endgame am I going to have a problem landing spells on even level players and if so, is there a special number of magic accuracy I'll need to have to have a 90%+ chance of landing spells on players?

I've yet to have a real problem with Macc, the only time you'll see a ton of resists is when fighting people/mobs 4-5+ levels higher than you; macc from gear really won't help you there sadly.

I'm a firm believer in Magic Boost stones: in groups HP isn't really an issue because you'll have a healer, and in PVP the best (imo) form of survivability is having the other guy dead asap.

Which skills exactly does MB help? Does it make our dots proc for more damage?

The only things not effected by Magic Boost are Pet Commands and Orb Spells. Everything else (Erosion, Chain of Earth, Weaken Spirit, Pain of Hell, Ignite Aether ect.) scales with Magic boost at a rate of ~12 MB = ~1% spell damage.

Is there a general strategy most use for soloing elites? I'm lvling spiritmaster for a change of pace from assassin, and I'm rather curious.

For the low level ones near Verteron I would just have them pound on Earth Spirit while I DOT'ed them and used Fire Energy.

What are the difference in stats between the spirits? I noticed wind got the shit kicked out of it when I hit 13, while fire did just fine.

So my SM is 21 and I havn't leveled her since 10, gogo 392 alchemy skillup XP XD

Anyways I was thinking about taking her out to do a it of leveling and whatnot but I was looking over all my abilities and I have no idea which ones are the good ones and which ones are the situational ones heh.

What I would like to know is a typical rotation for your normal killing of anything non-elite and which pet is useful for what PvE situations?

I would like to get my SM rolling for some summoning people out of kaiden HQ because that place is impossible to get out of so people can finish any spy quests they still have but I haven't touched the job since 10 and we have so many abilities O_o

Wind and Water pets are for kiting mobs, not tanking them. They have the lowest HP of the bunch, but have different advantages (wind pet can stun and is the fastest pet in the game, water pet does magic damage and is ranged).

Fire and Earth pets are for tanking and killing mobs. Fire pet has a better taunt and generates more threat with attacks, also all of it's damage is direct (no dots), but it has less HP and Defense than an Earth Spirit. Earth Spirit doesn't do as much damage, but it has a lot more HP, Defense, and it can heal itself with your Disturbance pet command.

Thanks for that, SB. I have noticed that most people soloing elites are using wind. I'll get somewhere near 18 today hopefully, I'll check this all out.

At what level would you start duoing elites effectively? My best friend and I want to duo spirit masters and would like to figure out a jump off point of where we can be really effective doing crazy shit.

Which piece of Abyss armor is best for Spiritmaster at 30? Is it worth trying to save up for the body piece, or should I just go for the hands or the feet? If the latter, which piece is ultimately better?

Its up to you really. I went with gloves for Attack speed for faster caster animations, and because I knew I'd get a pair of 20% boots for free at 37. If you plan on staying in the abyss and grinding all the way to 40+ and can get another piece though, then it's kind of a moot point.

I never really duo'd much as a SM doing elites, but if you wanted to you could around 36ish, killing the Assaulters/Assassin elites in the Lepharist Elite area in south eastern Eltnen. Camp the ramp near the Lepharist NPCs, pull the mobs and keep them slowed. Run up the ramp and glide down when the mob gets too close and rinse and repeat. I was still soloing those mobs at 41-42 for 230k ish a piece, so it'll last you a while.

So I've been soloing krall elites using water spirit and keep up erosion II, wind ball things, and with dot that slows as well. Other than that, are there any other spells I should be using soon? I just dinged 20, if it helps.

A lot of people don't like it but Flame Bolt I is a decent filler spell if you're sitting around doing nothing. Until you get spells like Cyclone of Wrath or Weaken Spirit, there isn't much else to be doing at those times, so you might as well be filling the space with some damage.
