    For me,
    PvE: Orb
    PvP: Book

Ground: I use Wind spirit. Many people I run into while rifting keep movement buffs handy on them and the wind spirit keeps at them while I catch up.

I don't use any magic accuracy stones but, I do use Tasty Almeha Aether Egg-rolled Sushi and similiar foods. I don't know about Sorcs, but a good Sin is a bitch to land fear on time to time if they use their aether ability and watching for fear. Outside of that, unless the level difference is 4~5+ more levels, resists arn't a issue atleast for me.

Good question about ignite, as I never paid enough attention to the manner it debuffs. I'm usually just spamming it anyways as soon I see a buff on to get addition damage in, and also trying to remove their movement buffs XD.

I do mix it up with HP and magic boost manastones though. Since I bump my HP over 4k, I've manage to live alot more now then when I had 3k HP. Not as much the ranger pincushion anymore.

I use wind. You simply cannot run from it, and stun is good for getting in range long enough to slap some orbs, dots, and Weaken Spirit. Oh yeah. USE THIS SPELL. Maybe does 700ish for me on regular mobs, but when feared.... 1600+, highest is about 2019.

Back to wind spirit though, I playfully dueled a 50 sorc in my legion, and even with him slowing it and using movement scroll with fast boots, rofl, he couldn't get away from it. I couldn't land normal DoTs on him, but fire energy landed, and that with the wind spirit on his ass eventually killed him, lol

I fought against a 38 sorc today, first time i fought them, i didn't do that bad, but I forgot about fear and a couple things, though I coulda killed them, but the second time I got raped with 8 resists in a row. Obviously an extreme case, but should I be worried about resisting lots of shit in the future, even against higher characters?

Finally, Stoneskin and Ignite Aether. Does Ignite Aether dispel first or does it damage then dispel? And from which side of the bar does it begin dispelling?
Wind pet for pvp even once pets fly since we'll be losing crash.

Magic Acc isn't an issue at 50 unless someone's using a magic resist set. Most of the resists you'll see while leveling is due to level difference.

Ignite dispels first then does damage, and removes buffs based on when they were applied: starting from the left iirc.

I spam it on mage mobs, templars, assassins, and sorcs. SMs... I've never fought another tbh, heh

I would have a hard time w/o it against a sorc who gets the jump on me. Maybe my server, but I find people rarely have the pots to remove the effect, then its just Dots > Fear > Weakened Spirit > Throw some other dots, and repeat with fear casting as soon you believe its going to wear off.

I suggest wind spirit to stun the sorc as much as possible. between stun and stagger and fear, the sorc should be beside himself trying to get out of different status to worry about you spamming him with weaken spirit

Silence is core, it's really good. Body Root is also amazing for both PvP and PvE, I spam the hell out of it in DP to block KDs, pulls, aoe ect. Between Silence, Ignite Aether, Magic Implosion and Slowing Shackles SM pretty much rapes mages.

As to weaken spirit, use it until you can get cyclone of wrath; that spell is way too good not to use...I wish I could have gotten it for cheap to ding into it, I missed out on 2 levels of easymode lol.

So at 34 best bet is... Ignite Aether, Silence and Weaken spirit? Or should I toss body root instead of something?

Ignite, Silence, Weaken Spirit until 37; then ditch Ignite for AoE fear. At 40 you can toss ignite back on, at 46 trade weaken spirit for cyclone.

Really the only decisions 45+ are if you want to only do PvE pet spec or not; the infernal pain line is amazing for both pve and pvp at 50, but armor spirit from the other tree is really good for grinding (esp calydons, suuuuch good exp).

Oh, one last question :< Water energy or wind servant? i'm like 3 bubbles to 31 so I haven't used either yet, but what's the difference as far as damage is concerned?

Edit: Apparently aiondatabase has them listed wrong, said water energy sends out 6 water things D: I thought it was gonna be win not just normal servant.

    1.9 Notes:

It looks like spirits only get roughly 1/4 of stats granted by manastones/equipment (at least for MB, don't have the gear to test others on PTS). I'll grind a bit and post some real numbers as soon as I can

We're getting some skill upgrades in 2.0...

    Spoiler: show

    Summon Earth/Water Spirit IV
    Cursecloud II (951/827)
    Cyclone of Wrath II (395/344)
    Infernal Pain II (554/482)

Pretty lame....HP manastones confirm this? Having full MB set is still nice before 1.9...but wondering if it will bring out much more for us with 1/4 increase.

I was really hoping attack % swapped over to pet also but got shot down...<3 my weave weapon

Did some better testing now that I actually have access to some gear:

Pet receives 20% of the stats from equipment/manastones, rounded down. (Tested with HP and MB)

Pet Skill Damage increases at a 1:3 (dmg:MB) ratio.

    Spoiler: show

All tests were done with Fire Spirit II using Thunderbolt Claw I on Training Dummies in Poeta:

    +0 (+0) MB: 330
    +10 (+2) MB: 330
    +40 (+8) MB: 332
    +74 (+14) MB: 334
    +90 (+18) MB: 336
    +106 (+21) MB: 337
    +136 (+27) MB: 339
    +150 (+30) MB: 340

Kinda underwhelmed, I really hope that the dmg:mb ratios change as you level up; would be really depressing to see only a 60 damage difference on attacks at 50.

Someone was saying earlier this afternoon on the PTS if a DoT scored a crit, each tick after would also crit. If that's the case (and do pets crit?), I think you guys will be alright on damage.

Yeah, I've seen it a few times but was unable to reproduce against dummies D:
However with the amount of crit that is needed to make it a common proc (at least 30-40%) it wouldn't be worth it due to the HP and MB you'd lose.

Pet skills can crit, just had one hit a dummie for a whopping 0 extra damage.

    A little more info:

The 20% stat bonus is Static across all pets, and all tiers of pet.
