Yeah, but how much of A Memory of Light was his fault and how much of it was the fault of the endings he was chained to by Jordan/Jordan's wife?
He's actually got a rundown of what he did in prepping for the books on his website somewhere.

And I was mistaken. It was Alloy of Law that he conceived during his creative break. These blog posts are quite informative in regards to how he managed to hammer out all the WoT novels and Stormlight Archive in such a short time.

I'm wracking my brain trying to remember a book I read about 20 years ago, I can't remember many specifics. If it jogs anyone's memory, please say something.

What I remember of the plot: Post-Apocalyptic book, set about 1000 (?) years in the future. A small team of humans were stuck in a suspended animation (cave? station?) due to a war and expected to be woken up in a year. When they wake, they realize that much more time has passed and they aren't when they they expected to be. Earth has mostly reverted at this point to a iron-age culture, with expected losses in knowledge of education and medicine, etc.

The book *may* have had a sequel, and one of the books *may* have had an animal in the title...wolf? possibly?

Not much to go on, but again, if it jogs anyone's memory....

I thoroughly enjoyed the mistborn trilogy (I really love Sanderson's magic systems). The first was my favorite, but I did like Hero of Ages as well. I also enjoyed Alloy of Law.

I'm looking forward to him tying his different worlds together (Elantris, etc).

And did anybody else read his short story Emperor's Soul? That one's awesome, but I don't expect to see much more from that concept any time soon.

I'll update this thread with a huge reading list once I've gotten all of the syllabi for my classes this semester. I'm taking three lit classes so I'm sure I'm going to be reading at least a dozen or more novels.

Just finished Tower Lord, and I will echos what others said; didn't capture the magic of the first one. A few reasons why for me:
    Spoiler: show

•Vaelin and his not wanting to fight. That adage of "I'm too good a killer" runs pretty far and wide in books I read and I don't feel it fits Vaelin's persona well at all this book.
•Took a while for Reva's story to get going 2/3 of the book imo. After that I really liked it though.
•I couldn't stand Frentis's story until that woman was killed. The whole "bound by magic and you are my slave" was unique and interesting to me when I read about it years ago in Wizards First Rule. Now it seems contrite and very convenient directing a narrative.
•Lastly, I don't really know if I like where the overall story is heading. Some long-dead-ancient-powerful-cunning-blah blah evil is once again moving his chess pieces around to bring the world into darkness. Ehhh.......... Well, I hope book 3 does something to bring me back in.

Now I need to figure out what to read next.
