Yay at the bone minions video D:
I know xiv will be out soon, and I'll love it and all that jazz, but the gamescon footage really kicked my interest up a few notches on this game. I'm pretty sure I'm more looking forward to this than tera or rift now. Didn't really see a forum for gw2 other than guildwars2guru.com but that looked kinda like there wasn't a whole lot of threads there, but I guess there hasn't really been a lot of info until recently.
I've pretty much lost all interest for XIV once i got into beta and tried it. GW2 just shot to the top of my radar, probably ahead of Rift for now. Looks like a solid fantasy mmo to play along side of TOR, and who knows, maybe TOR will be terrible.
what's TOR?
I played GW1 for quite a while, and have to say it was a very enjoyable experience. I played a fair chunk of both PvP and PvE and thought they were both well rounded and had some good things going. I haven''t been following GW2 yet, but with those videos I've just seen posted I'm very impressed and excited. disappointed if the rumours that there will be no heros or henchman is true, it was nice to be able to do at least some of the missions if not most of them without having to rely on other people (One of the biggest weaknesses in FFXI). Would hope to see at least a few new classes to add a bit of variety. Less of the same constant builds and strategies. Very excited for this, and hoping for a solid release date soon.
More of The Shatter fight
I can't get over the fact that your skill bar changes when you change weapons. Seems like a little thing but it's the first thing i noticed.
50 minutes of gameplay, minus the German dude at the start.

<3 the dye tab.
I really respect their attitude and willingness to try new things. Even if some things don't work at least they're not following blindly like so many others. My problem is I only wish they would have applied that to the look of the game as well. Instead of the amazingly cliche European medieval look. Dragons, wizards with staves, towns made out of wood and stones, ughh tiresome.
What I do love about this game already is that I can easily play 2 MMO-type games at the same time without giving up my life in the process (just like with the original). Can't wait.
Damn, at the very least this game will raise the bar on next-gen MMO's if it delivers on even half the crap they have planned. Feels dumb for me to even admit being excited for FFXIV just on the fact it had some good eye-candy. Someone mentioned the production values this game has in comparison with these big budget MMO's past and present. I'm going to have to second that the quality of polish present already is amazing, way beyond something I would expect from a future f2p MMO.
Some game companies still make games for the love of the art it seems. While others opt for the profit-driven design model.
yeah this game is going on my radar now since my comp can't run FFXIV good enough to be enjoyable. From what i've seen this looks pretty nice for f2p.
I think my only complaint about GW1 was the terrible rubber banding reminiscent of Diablo 2, if they can fix that I'll honestly have probably no problems with the game.
Whats Rift? I've never heard of that. To be honest, I've only played FFXI as tried WoW for MMOs. I thought TOR would be cool 'cause a bunch of my friends from work wanted to play it, but I'm just interested in trying FFXIV out for now. I wish I had more friends that were still interested in Guild Wars, but a lot of them got turned off from the limited PvE after a while and not many liked PvP.
