    Wireless not working on PS3

For some reason now my ps3 is unable to get an IP address from my wireless router. Double checked the passphrase as I updated the firmware and confirmed it's right. Other devices are able to wirelessly connect though, so I know the router is good. Anyone have any issues with the wireless chip on the ps3 going out?

Is your router broadcasting its SSID?

Ps3 usually looks for the wireless key, it might not translate the passphrase into hex. Try entering the key instead of the passphrase. If that doesn't work, try removing security from your wireless and trying it that way. If it still doesn't work, you know its your wireless chip for sure.

Haven't tried removing security yet, will give that a shot. It recognizes the SSID and that it's WPA security. Just times out when receiving the IP address. Just weird my IPhone was doing the same till the firmware upgrade, but my fiancee's notebook has zero issues.

It's possible it may be conflicting with another IP address. Try assigning a manual IP address instead of letting it obtain it automatically.
