Personally, I'm excited since I like Malkovich as an actor, and the vulture in the old spidey comics. I know a lot of people were expecting Mysterio or the Lizard, but with Raimi, he'll probably throw all three in anyway...

I absolutly loved Mysterio as a villan when I was a kid and collected Spider Man comics. However, I think he'd come off rather cheesy in today's movie genere.Originally Posted by Guyverarmor

I read on /Film that Anne Hathaway had auditioned for supposedly playing the part of the Vulture's daughter and would be another villain, the Vultress. I'm hoping for Felicia Hardy, aka the Black Cat.

Ha ha, "reboot" the franchise. Sounds just like what Marvel does when its comics start to lose popularity.

Peter Parker is going back to high school when the next Spider-Man hits theaters in the summer of 2012.
Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced today they are moving forward with a film based on a script by James Vanderbilt that focuses on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises.
The new chapter in the "Spider-Man" franchise produced by Columbia, Marvel Studios and Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin, will have a new cast and filmmaking team. Spider-Man 4 was to have been released in 2011, but had not yet gone into production.

john malkovich being vulture was for Spider Man 4. Spider Man 4 is the movie which has been suspended indefinitely.
so there will not be a john malkovich Vulture.
2012 they will be rebooting the whole series with new director/cast.
you know, kinda hope they do go with Ultimate Spider Man for the "reboot"

This is good news because then Raimi will have time to FUCKING MAKE THE NEXT EVIL DEAD ALREADY.
