If you want to go through the hassle of re-inviting everybody to the new legion, moving assets out of the legion warehouse, paying ~1.2 mil kinah to get back to level 3, and losing your legion's total AP score, etc. then sure you could do that. It's not completely pointless, but the price is pretty high.

As for the name changes, it appears that they are publicly logged on their site, so it would be difficult to abuse it to escape a bad reputation.

oh good, pay-to-play games with cash shops. especially lol at the idea of buying event items instead of, you know, having an ingame event that gives them to you. i'm sure they'll lose even more customers then they already have over this, especially with those prices.

also apparently they only work for one character, so lol again at having to buy the pack for each character you want it on...

and having to pay for event items? where the event is "get an ingame mail with your item"? i mean real the surveys with an item attached were the same thing and are free. at least if there was some event you could take part in you could pretend it was like paying an amusement park entry fee or something (even then it'd just be a timesink instead of fun though), but instead you're just buying the items. stupid.

I imagine prices will lower eventually. Right now they're just milking the people desperate to fix some little character imperfection. Think of it as a post-FFXI update with a popular quest item that could be sold on AH.

Character remodeling, name changing, and server changing aren't particularly good ideas but since WoW, people just whine at developers until they add them, so what can you do. What I have a bigger problem with are the Valentine's Day packs. I'm not paying 15 bucks a month for a cash shop game.
