Shadow Mantle Proc Rate

I had tested Shadow Mantle a while ago and had it at 1/16(6.25%) proc rate. Lately I've been hearing a lot of people say it's much higher. I finalli decided to lot one for my char, so I ran a test to re-confirm:

Test 1: 111/1638 = 6.78%(Original Test on Puks)
Test 2: 84/1521 = 5.52%(Crabs)
Test 3: 126/2080 = 6.06%(Crabs)

Total: 321/5,239 = 6.13%

For the test I used PLD/WAR, rounded up the 5 Puks in Den of Rancor and super tanked them while I spammed cure on my BRD + WHM. (Subsequent tests were done on crabs in Kuftal.)

(My older Shadow Ring tests have the proc rate at 1/8.)

Good to know, I think mine's going in storage now lol. I'm kind of surprised ring is that high though, I thought it was more ~10% from eyeballing.

1/8 would be 12.5%, so 10% is about right =p. Mantle still has its uses though~

I always figured it was around 10%-12%, which is the obvious figure.

5.56% to 7.99% on 95% confidence interval. 1/16th (6.25%) looks good unless you want to get into deeper fractions.

I remember some discussion around the idea that the proc rate increases the lower your HP goes...is there any merit to this?

Still a good piece for Ichi. I don't see any other viable back piece aside from boxer's that would be better, but would the 10 skill be better than 6.75%ish null damage rate?

The only time I ever equipped Shadow mantle is when I am Terrorized. To my knowledge you can't get blocks in that state, so I just swap in Shadow Mantle on.

I thought in the case of Ichi it was PDT+Haste+Fast Cast if SS is on and Spell Interruption gear if not?

Edit: Oh right PLD; I guess SI gear then?

I was under the impression it was on darksday/weather that the proc goes up.

Still beats all damage mitigation back peices for plds (including boxers). Dont toss it in storage quite yet..
