I passed on it, could have been mine but meh..Mac deserves this one. Too bad both 6f ramparts popped trees and we missed rats by about 30 secs![]()

I'll give you that for your new thread name, lol.
We're still a fairly new group, but hell, i'm proud of these guys. So, we'll SUCK LESS next AR i hope![]()
i rage when 6 with pickups fail 6f, dont know how you justify failing with 7 and a set group :/
bring a bard.

MNK's first day in the set.
Had a retarded buyer willing to pay 10M but the new MNK got it instead since no one else needed.
I'd say that's a pretty fucking good first day haha
Yeah, he just got this as it was going to hit the floor. I love 2x Salvage nights but 3 of these masks in 2 days in gayness.

If you aren't strong enough to do it properly without brd then bring one until you can?
Or continue bringing one.. gimping yourself to say you did is rather pointless. I'm sure I could full clear all zones except zhayolm without any member using castellanus cells, does that make me special?
If at the end of the day I could reasonably accomplish all of what i set out to do I don't give a shit if my group uses 5 pup 1 thf or brd cor thf DD DD/mage mage.
I dont see why the brd can't go as another job they can enjoy if the group isnt hurt by it for fun.
As it stands their problem was 6f which can be done without brd without risking a loss relatively easily but as they are if they cant do so then obviously using brd would fix thier problem the quickest. I didnt see anyone calling the people who were lv synching in the aery to thier 60's for fun idiots for doing so.
oh god, a suprise sync to lv 60 or something in the tank pt would be hilarious
We bring a brd, our 7 person setup is always RDM, WHM, BRD, THF, MNK, MNK, SAM. We have our BRD SV troub+night and sing before we port up to 6f... and then kill as fast as we can. Like I said, we are still new, and we're getting so much faster with each run that in another few weeks i'll be bitching more about lack of rat drops than a tree ruining my 6f pop.
I do appreciate your perspectives, though.
But i never said there was anything wrong with using the easiest method>.>
The whole pchan lulzing at brds in salvage had more to do with people saying they NEEDED brd when it's more like brd is nice to have but the brd going missing one day wont stop you from being able to win no matter how good you think you are. Kinda like how saying that you need 6 to win in nyzul when you're clearing with 15~20 minutes when you run into a group without a gimp.(the 20 minutes thing doesn't happen often as i dont spam nyzul but did happen before)
I agree with you on the matter of needing vs having a bard for security. In time, I should be able to have my WHM come on a DD job, but for now I need the extra support to ensure we kill each boss smoothly. Believe me, I'd love the extra DD for 6f.
My group typically only brings 2 sams for DD, and we have no problem with multiple tree pops. Polearm really does a number on that floor. If your sam doesn't have a polearm build, encourage them to work on one. Also, I am assuming he isn't subbing nin, but if he is make him stop. Berserk really helps on that floor with polearm. As you get more seasoned, full timing hasso on that floor becomes possible (stuff dies so fast + soul voiced storm fife ballads means endless mp).
Also, you didn't mention it so I'm not sure, but having your monk's hundred fists at separate points on that floor is what I would do. Popping those rats is more important than speeding up the boss, imo. (If you get to the point where you don't need to expend those two hours to safely pop the rats, thats even better)
Edit: Lolpachipachio. Seriously? I thought the math was done/weapons parsed and this argument was put to rest long ago.
I typically have one mnk hundred fist the first 6f rampart, and the second mnk do the same to the second rampart. The one sam I do bring does use his polearm build for 6f. Usually everything dies in time but last night I spilled the beans when it didn't, lol. Would you recommend using it on gears before ramparts, or am I good with my method?
Thanks a ton, Anomander. I appreciate your advice![]()
