if i download client on my computer (lower end PC close to bare minimum required specs) then go to my friends house and download the client there on his nice computer will I get banned from alpha testing? I'm assuming I would.

...no. They won't even bother checking IP's individually unless you get flagged by some suspicious activity like logging on from same IP with multiple(5+) accounts at the same time.
People have different IPs at home, at work, at their summer house, school, parents, etc. or sometimes non-static addresses at the same location.

On the bright side, those of you who didn't make it don't have to deal with the retardation on the tester forums.
It's such enriching content to read. With topics like "Count until we reach 10,000 or the client goes live!", "Rant!" and "wooo 500 posts!" I could be engaged in endless discussion there all day.

Great, thanks! At least the dev team can still work on making the alpha more stable, when problems with the servers are being dealt with. Or thats what Id think
