I'm starting to think they meant 5 persons parties, with up to 15 persons in an alliance.
Didn't they say in an interview they aimed for 5 persons parties?
They're still as vague as ever when it comes to certain things, though =P.
I think it means what it says. A >single< party can consist of up to 15 people.I'm starting to think they meant 5 persons parties, with up to 15 persons in an alliance.

There's no need to divide the parties afaik. There might be a penalty for inviting more than X amount of people, but I don't see why it couldn't be just one party instead of three parties in one alliance.
Man, I didn't think I could be much more excited for FFXIV but then I read this thread.

The updated manual was really interesting, glad I read it for the 5 mins it was up. This is just making me wish that I was in the alpha even more.
Well, I can safely tell my friends that I'll be "unavailable" for four hours on Thursday night!
What's up with the stat points, does Square Enix mean like the Elemental Affinity or something? I hope we can redistribute them in the final version which i think we will be able to do based on the (at this time).
Got my fix.
Thanks.
Most of the skill-point based games I know don't let you reset them after distribution or do that for a great price.
inb4 'I spent it all on STR and my accuracy is shit.'
Doubt SE will let players respec skills freely with no downside or limits. If everyone can respec when they need to it will go against the everyone being unique like a snowflake idea they seem to want for players this time around.
There's a kind of old Japanese MMO by Hudson called Master of Epic.
It was totally skill point based, and in order to respec, you had be a certain level and go through an epic-huge rebirth quest you could only do once every few months. On completion, you were rewarded with a fair amount of gold, piece of armor of your choosing, and the ability to respec with a bonus 10% extra skill points.
What time zone was the time for the test? Saw the times this morning and just thought it was my time zone(EST) but now that I think more about it is was probably in PST. Don't have my token with me so can't log-in now.
PST apparently.
Reading the youtube comments of some of the XIV vids is hilarious. I dunno where some of these people get their info from or if they just make it up on the spot. There's one about XIV being 29.99 a month and some other stupid stuff.
Still, this is a game where one toon is meant to be your main w/o relying on alts to lv new classes/jobs. So these attribute points will prolly be specific to the job your lving and/or not make or break some jobs because they don't want you to start a new toon.
PST, looks like it's gonna be test periods for alpha and not a stable client that stays on
