How does changing servers get you more achievement points exactly? Stealing the bank, sure, but changing servers would do nothing for that.

Probably source of currency. Gilgamesh is pretty tame. Its incredibly difficult to find currency on the streets. My Dynamis LS relic upgrades work by having you upgrade a portion from street turnins giving you credit to buy from the LS. For the past 2 years or so, the only people who were really turning in at a decent rate were those who seemed to have hookups from sell/split LS's or those who were using mules to run a pick up LS and keep the currency.

Could also just be for some other reason. I'll believe the ffxiah ranking seems to mean something to him. When I finished my Yoich and vaulted back up to #1 on my server, he immediately hit up SMN burns on his lower jobs to get a Maat's cap. He was there EVERY, FUCKING, DAY. He seemed to have stopped when he was barely #1 over me.

That's because, with the exception of Wopa, you quoted linkshells with working systems and people who didn't abuse their banks for gil. Minidragon, Stanislav, and Papy, as far as I know, have never cheated their respective linkshells. And even if they did skim off the top (which I seriously doubt they did, especially Papy, who doesn't even have bank access in Apathy last I heard), the regular members in those shells were also getting tons of incredible gear and upgrading relics themselves.

Actually if you talked to the majority of Perseverance I'm pretty sure most of them got w/e gear they wanted and were pretty happy with everything. Only a select few who got kicked would say otherwise(well and those people outside of the shell who think they know what is actually going on.)

Apathy makes it easier for people with the ability to generate decent money on their own to complete relics with linkshell help. Someone like Papy who is proven time and time again to be able to put his money where his mouth is is just one of the few recipients of a special linkshell cash out to point ratio discount when he works on a relic. It is available to anyone working on a relic.

Yea, clearly the best way to get #1 overall is to jump servers when you have a shell you can "zomg abuse" and use it to pump out relics for you. You sir are a fucking bastion of logic and reasoning.

Fuck ya, every person in the FFXI community that has had 4 relics has been a huge server hopper and shell jumper. Fucking Stan jumped across like 6 servers and 11 shells. Poor people in Apathy being used by Stan even as we speak. Minidragon was even worse than that. And we won't even get into the others, they make Stan and Minidragon look tame.

Self-absorbed much? He was clearly fucking out to get you dude. Couldn't let you sit at #1. That's why according to his AH profile, with a Maat's cap, he has 6 75s. Clearly for the AH ranking points. I mean, why level them all to 75 when you get tons of AH points for that? Definitely saving them for next time you completed a relic so he could leapfrog past you.
Here's an idea:
1. He wanted a Maat's cap.
2. He had a lot of time, and motivation, so he ground the fuck out of it to accomplish his goal.
3. He completed his goal, was burned out on burning (haha), and so he stopped.
I know this is some fucking bleeding edge thinking here, I don't expect most people to come up with this kind of amazing logic, so I'll forgive you this time. You can keep your title as "The Bastion of Logic and Reasoning" since this was so far out there, couldn't expect you to think of it on your own.

Maybe get some proof, and then you'd have a point, but the fact of the matter is, I've never heard a person from any of those shells every complain or say it was true, and I've heard non leaders from many of those shells say the opposite. I know in my shell right now, I made (along with 11 others) ~25mil from attending events alone in the month of Feb. May I ask how 3-4 relics is abusing a shell when people can pull in that kind of money? The thing is, it's all a matter of scope. Half the people accusing others of this are in shells that pull in 30mil a month. Sorry, I don't really want to bash you - play the game how you want, but that isn't impressive, and isn't much gil. I guarantee you just as many leaders from those shells skim/steal/cheat, but when they do, they come out with an extra salvage body at best after 3 months.

This too, I dunno how Pers did it, or how Apathy does it even, but if our shell continues for a year, anyone who's making tier1 payouts can easily expect 2, possibly 3 relics per year. Shockingly enough, most our leaders are making tier1 payouts. Who'd have thought that when we promote new people to leadership, we get active members? It's crazy.

This is something I've never understood in the massive "omg leaders are stealing all teh gilz" comments. In most shells, the leader(s) is(are) the most active in the shell. Of course they will come out ahead of others in terms of items gained and gil distributed.
