I have mixed feelings on Capaldi. I couldn't get behind him last year at all, but I felt a lot better about him in this season's opener. I don't think it's him as an actor that I have a problem with, I think it's the writing lately that has me turned off.

My biggest issue, spoilered just in case.

If I remember the last of Matt Smith's season correctly, they basically ended with Gallifrey returning to our universe. So I expected the search for Gallifrey to play a huge role in the next season, but it was barely mentioned. Seems like one of the biggest plot points in recent Doctor Who history was just brushed aside.

That's kind of driving me crazy too. It seemed clear that was going to be the driving force for the following season... and, nothing.

I'm guessing that Moffat wants Gallifrey back, but he has no idea how to do it properly or, more specifically, what will happen after it does. So he's drawing it out, and his final episode will be finding Gallifrey so he can dump the actual Gallifrey content on someone else.

Wasn't really a fan of this, but I assume it will just be a plot thing for later in the season and he'll get his screwdriver back......hopefully. The rest of the episode was great though.

Clara got put in a Dalek, it was kind of like a throwback to her entrance to the Doctor Who universe

It would have been amazing though had he actually gone through with it. Like, imagine the darkness.


And still zero explanation at how Davros, not only survived the Madusa Casade but how he even managed to get out of it when everything got blown the fuck up.

Directed at 2 posts up- Might've pulled a Dalek Caan and done an emergency temporal shift..although that turned him insane, not like Davros isn't probably insane anyway haha

Missy robot dancing in sync with Dalek voices was hilarious, albeit too brie

I'm sure Caan only went insane because he shifted into the time war, which at the time was ment to be time locked but who knows now.

Did enjoy this episode none the less, sonic sunglasses are a bit wtf but i think that its more due the complaints that he would use his screwdriver to do pretty much everything but with these they may limit the stuff he can do with it which i must admit would be nice since it was getting a tad old with him just waving it about and everything goes hunky-dory again.

Certainly this season can't get worse than the moon being a giant dragon egg, lets talk about abortion episode. *groooan*

I really hope we get a new companion soon, Clara has worn out her welcome and is just warming the seat for someone new. I still think Danny would have been a good companion but whatever Moffat. Can we get a guy already?

Turning the Master into Michelle Gomez may be the best thing to come out of last season and it shows here with her show-stealing performance.

There will most likely be lasting damage with Clara being connected to the Dalek Tank. Maybe she will become a Hybrid at the end of the season which would allow her to exit and have her story come full circle (one of her "splinters" was introduced as a dalek)

I really liked the scene with Missy using Clara to illustrate some of the emotional restraints placed on Daleks. That scene was very interesting. Probably the most entertaining scene with Clara in a long time.
