Last week we heard that those Captain America re-shoots that were rumored to be taking place in the U.K.were actually happening in L.A.

Our first tip came from an interesting exchange on Twitter between two of our followers last week:

@NKOTBhasMyHeart: @olv Hi! Do you have any info on Frost Bite? Filming in Ventura County.

@Josh_Wilding:@olv @NKOTBhasMyHeart Captain America was called “Frostbite” while filming here in the UK. Reshoots perhaps?

@Josh_Wilding: @olv Stan Lee has said that he’s being fitted for his Captain America cameo tomorrow. Perhaps those “Frostbite” signs were related to it!
Then today we received a permit issued for filming in L.A. for Vita Ray Productions Inc/ Frostbite which, sure enough, is the production company for Captain America. Check out the details below:

THE PRODUCTION COMPANY: Vita Ray Productions Inc

    WILL BE FILMING: Frostbite

    UNDER PERMIT: F00037793

    LOCATION: 555 W. 5th St

    PREP DATE(S): 4/08/11, 12:00 P.M. – 5:00 A.M

    FILMING DATE(S): 4/09/11

    FILMING HOUR(S): 5:00 A.M. – 10:00 P.M
It looks like @Josh_Wilding was right! If you spot Captain America filming in L.A., let us know about it at [email protected]!

Captain America: The First Avenger screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus recently confirmed in an interview that there are plans for a Captain America sequel. This isn't surprising, I think we all knew we would end up seeing more that one Captain America film, but the do talk about the setting of the sequel as well as how The Avengers will effect future solo character Marvel films.

The first question asked was, When you writing The First Avenger, did you need for a greater Marvel movie landscape shape your story at all?

McFeely: Yeah, but it was never intrusive. You're going to need a MacGuffin, so if it's related to the Marvel Universe, that's fine by us. We already had a villain, so if we wanted to also weave in Howard Stark it wasn't that hard. Someone has to fill some of these beats.

Markus: We probably had the easiest jobs in terms of interweaving the universe of Marvel movies, because we're chronologically first. We don't have to pick up the threads from the other films.
When asked if the they were working on a sequel, McFeely said "Yes!" The two then go on to talk about the story, and whether it will focus on more WWII adventures or the present day.

Markus: We're very early, still. This is the fun part — when we can say, "Hey, we can do this!" and everyone says, "Yeah!" No one says anything negative at this point in the process. We have a million great ideas and haven't thrown any of them out yet. That being said, it's sort of a weirdly huge opportunity for storytelling in that you know modern Cap through the Avengers at that point, and just by the nature of what we were talking about before, there's going to be a lot of his World War II history we haven't shown. We're going to have two entire timelines to play with.

McFeely: I wonder if the reaction to ["The First Avenger"] will steer us in some way. First, if it does well... Then, if it does well and people embrace the World War II aspect of it, maybe there's pressure to return there in a large way. But if they don't embrace that aspect and just love Chris Evans as Steve, maybe there's less pressure to do that — you can just keep him in the Avengers universe.
They go on to talk about how all of the present day Marvel character solo movies will work alongside each other after The Avengers:

Markus: It's weirdly the same opportunity that the Marvel comic book guys have been having the last however-many years. All of those Avengers characters have solo comic books. You have to say "Captain America was on vacation the day when that solo adventure happened," or explain why Iron Man didn't call all of his super-powered friends when he was fighting that guy. It's a bizarre problem to have... It's not really a problem, actually. [Laughs]

McFeely: I think ["Iron Man 3" director] Shane Black is the one with the first burden. He's the one who has to handle the first post-"Avengers" movie.
As awesome as Thor looks, I'm looking forward to seeing Captain America even more. This is one of my favorite Marvel characters, and the movie looks like it's going to be awesome! It will be cool to see how they go about making a sequel after The Avengers.

More From Chris Evans On Captain America: "This Isn't A Flag Waving Movie"

Speaking to CBR, Evans answers some more question on his role as Steve Rogers in Captain America: TFA...
We will of course be swamped with Cap stuff in the build up to the movie's release. But you guys don't mid I'm sure! I found some excerpts of Chris Evans' interview with Comic Book Resources interesting because as well as speaking about Hugo Weaving, he also addresses the ever controversial issue of Cap being seen as JUST a jingoistic flag waver..

CBR: What does it mean to you to basically be draped in the American flag for this film?

Evans: Ha, well, to me, I'm not trying to get too lost in the American side of it. This isn't a flag waving movie. It is red, white and blue, but it just so happens that the character was created in America during war time, when there was a common enemy, even though it is Captain America. I've said before in interviews, it feels more like he should just be called Captain Good. [Laughs] You know, he was created at a time when there was this undeniable evil and this guy was kind of created to fight that evil. I think that everyone could agree that Nazis were bad and he, Cap, just so happens to wear the red, white and blue.
Evans also goes into some details about his co-star Hugo Weaving who of course will portray Cap's nemesis The Red Skull..
He's just a good man. I mean, it's always disappointing when you work with fantastic actors that you respect professionally and then you meet them and realize they're kind of jerks. [Laughs] That couldn't be more opposite with Hugo. He's just the most... I'd say patient man because I can't imagine what it feels like coming in to work at 4:00 AM and sitting there for three hours of make-up and then having to stay in a good mood while shooting. He somehow manages to still be a good person, and he's still so happy to be here and he loves doing it. He's so good at it and he has no ego, he always listens to whoever's directing or whoever he's acting with, he never thinks he's bigger than the part, or bigger than the project. He's just a consummate professional. It's really impressive.

'Captain America' keeps full name in most of world (AP)
Source: AP Wed Jul 06, 2011, 5:50 am EDT

In this film publicity image released by Paramount Pictures, Chris Evans is shown in a scene from the film 'Captain America: The First Avenger.' Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios gave distributors around the world the option of shortening the title to'The First Avenger.' The only countries that took them up on it were Russia, Ukraine and South Korea.
In other territories, the movie will go out with the full title, a sign that the brand value of the Marvel Comics hero trumps any potential anti-American sentiment in some parts of the world. (AP Photo/Paramount Pictures, Jay Maidment)

LOS ANGELES - Captain America will keep its patriotic full title in most of the world when the superhero adventure hits the big-screen.

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios gave distributors around the world the option of shortening the title of "Captain America: The First Avenger" to simply "The First Avenger," out of concern about anti-American sentiment.

But the only countries that took them up on it were Russia, Ukraine and South Korea.

In other territories, the movie will go out with the full title, a sign that the brand value of the Marvel Comics hero trumps any potential anti-U.S. feelings in some parts of the world.

Movie titles often are changed in foreign countries for cultural reasons or because the original names don't translate well. In French-speaking countries, "The Hangover" and its sequel were titled "Very Bad Trip."
