    Levelling via Word of Destruction

Just got my Word of Destruction, and I'm currently trying to figure out how best to use this baby. For those not familiar with how it works, basically, you eat a 4k DP Jelly, go round up 13 mobs, and Word of Destruction them. Sounds good? It is. Trouble is, the only info I can find on this strategy deals with Elyos mobs, and my Cleric is Asmodian.

I've been trying to find good Asmodians locales to utilize this strategy, but in most places I've been, the mobs are either 1) too far spaced apart 2) are ranged 3) stun me 4) de-aggro after a while 5) some combination of the above. Here are some possible spots :

    1) Lepharist Citadel. Sounds like it would be a good place, but there aren't enough mobs and they stun me, leading to death

    2) Krotan Klaws. Haven't tried this place yet, but it seems like it might be good. Klaws don't stun or root do they?

    3. Bakarma Camp near Hoarfrost. Would be ideal since Balaur drop Balic mats, but once again, they are pretty spaced out and some are ranged. Also, the Assassin mobs stun.

    4. Hoarfrost Spirits. Too many ranged/caster mobs among them.

    5. Fang Troll Encampment. The smaller trolls are ranged.

That's about all the areas I can think of that are Level 40ish right now...any other ideas? I'll update this thread as I try out more areas and see how they fare.

Some things I've found out while using this strategy :

    1. Always bring Life Serums, Anti-Shock scrolls and Run Scrolls in case something goes wrong.

    2. You can use Thorny Skin and Blessed Shield to ensure mobs stay on you.

    3. It's possible to kite about 3 mobs without any serious loss of life, more than that and it gets dangerous (this will of course depend on your gear as well)

Some things I want to know in order to refine my methods :

    1. How long a distance do mobs need to be from you to de-aggro?

    2. Can they de-aggro while under a DOT?

I'd imagine Spiritmasters could use this method too, but I'm not sure how they would manage without heals and only Stoneskin...

I honestly, do not know much about what you are talking about, but I can answer these two. De-aggro distance changes depending on the monster type, your level difference, and any movement effects on said monster. ie, if you snare them, their de-aggro radius can be reduced significantly.

Can a mob deaggro with a dot on it? Yes it can, and will do so often. You may have to get slightly farther away, or take it farther away from its spawn point, but it will deaggro with a dot on it, go back to its spawn point and the dot will still tick on it til its duration is done with no further aggro to you.

All this for a 1hr cooldown that will kill 10 mobs? Go group up and exp.

The best way to use this skill is going to a siege and popping it.

lving that way seems more tedious... your gonna spend more time trying to set up the train then it would take to kill a few mobs. and 4k DP can't be spammed... so don't see how you can "lv by word of destruction". Though I could see you pulling a few mobs at once and using it when you do get 4k.

Well, the main reason I'm going through all this trouble is because when I don't enough time to actually play my alt that much, I like logging on, popping WoD and then logging off. Killing 12 mobs in the time it takes to kill 1 sounds pretty good to me.

I know it seems like a lot of trouble, but it's kind of a pet project of mine and I still think I'll try it out. I'm still having trouble finding areas with a lot of clustered mobs though...

I heard about this method in KHQ on the Elyos side, and I believe the idea is to just log on cleric, WoD, then play an alt for an hour. Repeat every hour for however long til you get a lot of levels =P

Anyway, I won't speak of the usefulness since I never did it, but I know that the spots in KHQ were deep inside, where there are rooms full of mammaki slave-like things that are non-elites. They come in packs of 12 or so and word of d is enough to kill them, plus they don't hit too hard. The asmo equivalent of KHQ is mistmane village so you might want to look in there for similar sections. They're walled off rooms deep in the zone full of non-elites, with maybe one elite pat watching over them. Good luck!

It might work you are thinking about kiting melee mobs. Ranged mob will rape you. Then it will give you a res stone and rapes you again.

Yup, definitely melee mobs, I just pop a run scroll and run in a tight circle. It works well, just that I can't find enough mobs to kill.

I tried Mist Mane, but the only areas which have a cluster of mobs are the Odella fields, and some of the mobs there are ranged. I haven't noticed any walled off rooms with mobs inside in all the times I've been there...maybe I am not looking hard enough, but I suspect that the Asmodians may not have them, which is why I am looking around the entirety of Asmodae for possible grind spots.
