FFXI Installation and Windows 7 (64bit)

I'm attempting to install FFXI on my wife's computer. I downloaded the Vista/Windows 7 compatible version of playonline and I've managed to install that. When I try to install the first disc of FFXI the installer tells me that playonline viewer isn't installed. I've tried turning off the UAC and running installer off the setup.exe on the disc. Nothing I've done has made a difference. The discs are the original 2004 cd's. I'm not sure if that's what's causing the issue or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

try running the setup exe on the disc as an admin, also make sure you ran the pol setup as admin, if worse comes to worse, install the old version of pol, install all of ffxi, then uninstall pol and install the w7 pol. The only problem with the old POL is it won't run, it'll still install.

Installing the old playonline version first worked. Thanks for the advice. Don't know why I didn't think to try that.

A few tweeks with the install folder also helped me on this.
    Thanks!
