Trying to get shit booked for London - anyone know which of the Travel/Premier Inn chainy-type places (forget which one hubby gets works discount at) is decent for the Albert Hall? Rare as hell I go to London cos that South thing scares me.

Just a heads up the show down here in baltimore is the same weekend as Otakon so expect alot of trafic vehical and pedestrian. Not to mention the road construction going on for the grand prix.
Also Nobuo Uematsu will be doing a special apperance at Otakon not sure in a stand alone panel or what, he has just been announced as a guest.
According to the site it'll probably be some sort of panel/autograph session, you have to give a $20 donation to the Japanese Red Cross to get in.
Edit: Makes me even madder that I'm not going this year, after intended too, because I got bailed on. D:<
Concert tonight, Can't wait.
Concert was awesome. Susan Calloway really nailed every song she sang which was quite a few.... I think 4 or maybe even 5. Sadly Nobou was not in attendance.... however to our surprise Masashi Hamauzu (FFXIII composer) was. Turns out according to Arnie Roth Hamauzu was originally one of the singers for FF7. At the end of the concert they had him sing with the choir as an encore. A good 5~ songs were those from FFXIII which I assume was an tribute to him since he was in attendance. Awesome convert overall. Susan really made the night. I think she sung: Distant Worlds, Suteki da ne, Melodies of Life, FF14's "Answers", and MEMORO DE LA STONO (FFXI). Not sure about distant worlds but I'm sure the other songs were sung by her.
Totally worth the money! Just wish I had tickets to the LOTR:Fellowship of the ring orchestrated for next weekend. :/
Usually she does Suteki da Ne, Melodies of Life, Answers, Distant Worlds, Kiss me Goodbye. I'm sad that her version of Kiss me Goodbye isn't on any CD's yet, I'm quite fond of it.
Probably was the song I was missing that she sang. But man she was not off at all when she sung live. I've seen a few recordings of her that were less than perfect but damn. She was much better than last years opera singers.
Bump for the performances in LA tonight and tomorrow. So excited for this. Going to both. Anyone else in attendance?
Edit:

Spoiler: show
I don't know how I can sleep when I'm still going to night 2.
So what about the dress code for DW? Looking up online around it seems it's pretty free what-you-like? I know there's always a bit of cosplayers, but what about general audience?
Well they are usually held in a nice concert hall and you don't want to go looking like you just beat up a hobo for his clothes. Dress nice like you would to a dinner with your girlfriend's parents or something, it doesn't have to be prom/wedding nice or anything. Bonus points for cosplay, obv. Although then there are those people who cosplay things that aren't FF... they confuse me.
Semi-Dressy I'd say. You know.. slacks/decent dress shirt/polo shirt, or what have you. When I went in Atlanta, it ranged from polo shirt/slacks to full on suit mode, and there was some cosplay as well.
Really looking forward to London now - the fact that nice tax man sent me a cheque for overpaid taxes back that I can spend while I'm there makes it all the sweeter! (Tax men are much nicer when they're sending YOU money)
I'm heading out Saturday morning for the London concert that evening. Wondering what I should wear, but I guess jeans/decent shirt will do the trick?
Consider the venue and also that you're seeing an orchestra, a button-down and slacks should be the bare minimum. A tie would not be over-the-top.
Shit, just bought tickets for Pittsburgh Feb2012.
Makes sense. I'll wear slacks.
Anyone want to sponsor me to go?
I'll record it all on my iphone!
And will take pics!
(I'm a little broke lately...)
I went to the one in Chicago, its really a mixed bag. There are people in cosplay, people dressed up nice and people in ::cough:: jeans and hoodies ::/cough:: Depends on your personal preference.
Its also really fun seeing the orchestra's reaction to the long standing ovations they receive. I don't think they are used to such a strong reaction to their work!
How long is one concert, btw?
Having buyers remorse
PA doesnt show that Nobuo nor Susan will be there
No muscial selection is shown either.
Oh well.. I will go in with blind hope and hope everything goes good.
Fuck, I cant go in with low expectations, it's fucking FF music.
Susan at least needs to be there.
