FFXIStyle not working?

Just coming back to FFXI and trying to get this working. Seems like half of it is working. The Text/Menu/Icons look good from what i remember.. but then the character models look like crap, its all clumpy and blurry at short distances from me.. can load SS if need to, but im sure you know what im talking about.

I tried emikos 1.15 widescreen, didnt work. tried non widescreen, didnt work. tried 1.14 widescreen didnt work. tried 1.14 non widescreen didnt work.

Any Solutions?

I'm fairly sure FFXIStyle is only for the text, icons, arrows, etc. Character models are all controlled by what you have your graphics set to.

I was just tweaking my windower settings the other day using tips from here

If you use windower just open the GUI and click advanced. Set your background resolution to equal your overlay resolution (FFXI window size) or if your PC can handle it and you want things to look even nicer, set the BG resolution to something higher than your overlay resolution.

You can see here how having your BG resolution set to equal or higher than your overlay resolution can greatly increase graphics.

You can also play around with the level of mipmaps. I find 4 to be perfect and really makes the game look much nicer in combination with an increased BG resolution.

What are your system specs (Hardware, OS, gfx driver version), Hercule?

Do you use the same settings in Campaign Battle, Dyna, Besieged? What are your frame rates there?

What's your WG-AH fps? (which I swear should be a benchmark somewhere...)

As far as I know FFXiStyle is still "broken". Meaning it works for the most part, but if for example I use my "Chocobo Beret" on you you'll become an egg and be unable to turn it off, for some reason, because the icon it tries to give you shows up as an error.

Seems a bit weird, but apparently what happened to my friends when I used my beret on them >.>

I believe Krellian is working on updating the packet as a whole on windower.net. Hyshio would know more over there.

The game run @ 30 FPS full time, exept on some part of White Gate, and i put the Draw Distance to lv 1 for every limbus Appolyon zone, in dyna i keep it and sometimes got a down rate of FPS @ 15 FPS but its like the same with or without Draw Distance.

We have almost the same system, except I don't use windower. I know that means I can't use draw distance, but I was hoping to make overall picture nicer. Do you remember version of catalyst you use (or used?).

you dont need windower to make the changes in regedit (which is what windower does)

It's because there is no real icon assigned to the chocobo costume status effect currently, the same thing happened with avatar's favor before it was fixed in ffxistyle. You can't click it off, it gives the 'level cap area' icon and when you target it it says something about DEBUG. It's a problem for me too, I can't get turned into a chocobo T_T. I wasn't sure if there was a properly updated version that has that fixed though.

How are higher settings available? All I can get with my config are a background max of 1024x1024 and overlay of 1280x768, which is what my monitor size is atm.

Use the windower launcher (launcher_gui.exe) and you can edit your graphics settings manually.

Yea I can do all of that through POL/Regedit, I was just hoping there were other options/tweaks, or some recommended settings.

FFXI Settings
- Utility to modify nearly all of the FFXI settings beyond the limits of the normal configuration program.
- Features templates and Open and Save options to quickly store and apply commonly used settings at later times.
- Allows editing and applying FFXI Settings without closing PlayOnline.
- Optionally edits a Windower.ini to adjust the display resolution without opening the file.
