Eye Floaters - is there a cure/treatment?

I have a couple of those annoying fucking eye floater things in my right eye. They're driving me fucking insane.

Is there a way to get rid of them, and if so - what is it?

If it's a procedure, what's the cost?

Also, is there a way to prevent getting more of them, such as "cutting down on X in your diet" or taking a certain vitamin?

Pretty sure everyone in the world has them, I guess if theyre severe enough you can get them lasered.

Nothing you can do about them. I have a few that are so faint most of the time I don't even notice them

A friend of mine had those really bad. He was gonna go to Sweden or something and have a procedure where they drain your eye fluid.

It turned out to be stress I think, he started living healthier and doing acupuncture and they went away or something.

Is it something new?

I just had to bring a family member for immediate eye surgery to correct a partially detached Retina. The only symptom was the sudden and constant onset of "floaters". He didn't have any pain or other vision impairments at all.

You can detach a retina but doing something as simple as shifting your vision quickly to one direction. I think it's much more common in older adults though. My uncle is in his mid 50's.

I'd at least get that checked out if this is something new. Hell, even if it isn't something new it would be worth checking out.

I have these too and thought I was the only one when I tried to tell my friend about it when it was bad and he laughed. I almost felt a little better when I saw that on Family Guy, then I remembered it was Family Guy. It's not bad enough for me to get lasik to fix it, but if my eye sight gets worse then I'd give it a shot.

They're just clumps in the posterior chamber of your eye in front of the retina. Most of the time, it resolves itself, i.e. the "floaters" will drift down towards the bottom of the eye and out of the way of your vision, so they'll still be there but they won't affect your vision.

There's really no treatment for them and they don't negatively impact your vision other than being annoying, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I get these damn things all the time. It's not annoying or anything, and I only see them if I look at a solid color. As soon as I "see" it I guess, it goes away, just as Stewie says.

I also have this thing where I see flying red dots in the dark all the time. It's so fucking weird. I can see them in the day time if I pay attention to them, but I pretty much ignore it all the time. You just get used to it. Before anyone asks, no I am not crazy. Anyone else have this?

I use to get them a lot when I was younger, almost none now. First you should consider seeing an optometrist to see if there are any issues with your eyes really. For me it seemed to be related to the fact that I needed glasses.

Yeah I wear glasses as it is. I had an appointment with an optometrist a few months back, but I missed it. He said a had a couple of spots on my eyes, but nothing dangerous or I had to worry about. Next time I go to get glasses (this summer most likely) I'll get my eyes dilated (I hate it soooooo much) but I need to do it, just to be safe. My eyesight is pretty shit. Not really bad. I think I'm... nearsighted? Can't see shit from far away. I also have astigmatism in both eyes. Not overly bad, but annoying. My eyeglasses need to separate perscriptions in the lense, so whenever I get no glasses they mess with me really bad.

I've considered laser eye surgery, and I think they said they can actually get rid of astigmatism now. It would save money in the long run with not paying for glasses over time. Maybe just reading glasses. I need to pay some more debt off & get my car before I consider the procedure though. I can wait. The longer I do, the better it gets.
