    Things to do in NJ?

Cousin and a friend are going up to NJ for about a week, so we're trying to find stuff they can do while they're up there.

They're mostly there for work, so afaik they won't have full days to go out and do touristy stuff so we're mainly looking into restaurants and/or bars that they can stop by and check out. Think they'll be staying at Carteret, and also planning on driving out to NY for their last day there to check it out.

Anybody know any places around there that they should definitely go to? We live in CA so anything that's typically not available on the west coast would be awesome too. :D Thanks!

You're in North Jersey? Go to NYC.

Sadly, there really isn't anything to do in NJ, other than take a bus to NY.

The first thing I would do is find the quickest route out of NJ and then take it.

But if I were to be helpful, don't waste your time doing anything in NJ, just go to NYC. Grab a burrito at San Loco.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Need to go to a Dunkin' Dounuts at least once and get a coffee coolatta and realize California's prices on coffee fucking sucks. (Also Munchkins)

So essentially, nothing much to do over there cept for what Ksandra's mentioned? Not sure how their work scheds are gonna be like, but half an hour drive to NYC doesn't sound too bad so probably heading over there a few times during the trip then.

Also, what is so special about Wawa?

Went there on business a few weeks ago. our non-work highlights were going to IKEA and Wegman's.

So yeah.. not much to do in NJ

Wawa is just a 24/7 convenience store of sorts. But it's pretty amazing. Food is decent. Prices are good, etc.

If you don't mind a bit of a longer drive hit up Philadelphia too. I live in South Jersey so, we're a bit closer. But it's really just a trip for the food. Unless you care about historical shit, then you could do that too.

There's not much to do in Jersey besides hitting our shore points. There was a thread about Wildwood not too long ago. But that is a ways away from where you are staying.

    Pretty much this.

Wawa is good. (Superior to 7/11 in every single way except they don't have those little taco things)

If you're in South Jersey, visit Philly.

If you're in North Jersey, visit New York.

If it's hot out, visit the beach (we have good beaches and boardwalks).

I mean we have lots of other great stuff too but it's just generic shit that doesn't appeal to tourists (Good malls, local shops, food, bars, etc.) There's a few decent arcades also in the state somewhere (Eight on the Break was okay...not an impressive venue but a very impressive selection of games to be played. Something for everyone)

Also where does everyone get this "Smells like Dead Fish" rumor? It definitely does not. If anything, New York smells far worse than Jersey does.

You could also head out more west into amish country if you want to sight see.

If you do though go to the Good n' Plenty restaurant.

They basically have long wooden tables that they thrown everyone in together with (great for meeting people from all over the place). Then they serve you thanksgiving dinner style, where they just keep putting food at the center of the table and you all pass it around n' share. Food is hella delicious too. Usually they give you different pies for dessert including Shoo Fly Pie. Good to say you've eaten it, but it's disgusting as fuck lmao.

Amish Country is three or four hours away, in middle Pennsylvania.

ok I'm not crazy maps says it's about two hours away to the good n' plenty, but it's on the eastern edge of ahmish country so that might be why.
