One can only hope.

I dunno what's worse.. The fact that they're aliens, or the fact that most of the movie is gonna center around April and Casey coming to terms with the fact that they've met alien turtles.
Oh right, they're both fucking terrible -.-
/rage
...
OH OH OH...
SHREDDER IS GOING TO BE ON THEIR SIDE!!!!!!!!
Only at the end. When he talks with Splinter and finds out he's an alien too.
Bay just loves ruining our childhood.
To be fair, it's only slightly worse then the original movies.
Fuckin lol at title change
I now know that growing older means that there is a chance, in any given year of some precious memory from my childhood being savaged and that millions of people will happily pay money to watch.
Michael Bay raping our child hood, 1 shitty movie at a time.
^ yup
Hell, I honestly worked on copying the TMNT dance when I was a kid >.> shit was boss when it came out.
TMNT serves as a time capsule for the popular surf/skate culture from the 80s as viewed by children.
I don't understand how it can be rebooted in the first place, regardless of who Hollywood pays to rape it, without severly killing the spirit of the characters.
I think some people have been confusing 'popular/entertaining' with 'good' in this thread. Lots of things are popular/entertaining, not very many things are good. This stands true for most Michael Bay movies.
Personally, I found the first Transformers movie entertaining. I didn't grow up with as much nostalgia for it as some others since I never cared for it as a child, but even I can recognize how bad the fucking 2nd and 3rd movies were. What MB did to the Transformers is stupid and unacceptable.
I DID, however, grow up with TMNT, it was one of my first loves as a kid. This movie is going to be popular. It's probably even going to be entertaining. But I'm sure it will be all kinds of bad, especially because with just one pre-production sentence it is already sowing the shitseeds.
Admittedly I am sort of looking forward to seeing how realistic MB can make the turtles with his ginormous budget, it might be cool to see them look better than men in rubber suits or obviously CGI.
...but seriously, aliens, man? Shiit. What the fuck is that D: Guess he's trying to recreate his success with Transformers by emulating its basics.
