    Michael Bay and the rest of Platinum Dunes will oversee the launch of a new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, according to Deadline New York.

    The film marks the first non-horror remake for Platinum Dunes, who will team with Paramount and Nickelodeon to re-adapt the property.

    The franchise, which began as a black and white comic book series in 1984, rose to tremendous popularity when it became an animated series in 1987. Following the first live-action film in 1990, the series spawned two live-action sequels, a live-action television series, a second animated series and a CGI feature film.
    Goddammit. This is one of my childhood favorites...now with the Michael Bay touch..just let the franchise die with dignity or something. Also liked a certain comment someone left. "90 mins of April O'Neil & Casey Jones, turtles having 3 lines of dialog each."

    - First film in a trilogy

    No.

    No, no, no, no, NO.

    Come on, really?

    The series ended badly enough on the third film, and was quite capably redeemed by the animated "sequel" that came out a few years back. There was hope for further 'Turtles' stories in the form of animated features. Maybe a feature film explaining to the non-comic crowd Kurai's control of the Foot Clan, maybe another explaining her cryptic message at the conclusion of the film.

    But this? A remake? Another one?

    Why can't Michael Bay leave my childhood alone ; ;

    Thankfully Nintendo has said they don't wanna do anymore video game movies, so at least that part is safe from him.. but the rest cowers in fear...

    Do you think assassinating Michael Bay would be considered a mercy killing for the rest of humanity?

    It was bad enough when he destroyed Transformers by defecating all over it, but TMNT is just going too far.

    I'm sure he'll find some new "actress" in her late teens or early 20s who's smoking hot but has all the dramatic ability of a slice of burnt toast to play April, and find a way to make the Turtles' weapons made of explosions.

    I wonder if he will make the TMNT look as far from the original design as possible, ala 9/10 of the Transformers he ruined.

    I am raging so hard right now over this. I was actually thinking about this new TMNT movie the other day wondering how it'd go and now I read this shit. Michael Bay can get run over by a car and I wouldn't give a shit now, this movie is destined to end in failure but a large box office gross since it has TMNT + tons of special effects in it guaranteed.

    I didn't think the Michael Bay adaptation of Transformers was THAT terrible. Granted, I could have done with less humans in both films but hey, dude is just trying to make money. Slowly ruining the nostalgia fest.

    Story/etc was fine, but Starscream and Megatron should actually LOOK like Starscream and Megatron. Same for many others. He stuck Prime spot on - why couldn't he be consistent? Ruined it for me.
