Unfortunately Nintendo makes a new 3DS every year so you always end up waiting I'd say if you can--go out and buy a used 3DS and then upgrade it to this one later.

You'd be best served by waiting if you're determined to get a 3DS. There is no point in buying both.

Actually I have the original 3DS I don't use, I think I have a battery for it that I never bothered to pop in.

A little miffed to be losing out on the Zelda XL. If they had the plate switch option for the larger model that would have been nice.

If I saw that the Smash version would be a "new" model too, might be getting one of those. I'll have to wait and see what this initial crop of exclusive titles holds before deciding.

You would have to think an upgraded 2DS isn't far behind.

A: The confirmed operating systems are Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.

A: No, you won’t be able to.

Q: Can you transfer software data from the Nintendo 3DS/3DS XL?

A: Data can be transferred from the Nintendo 3DS/3DS XL to the New Nintendo 3DS/New 3DS XL. (However, data from the New Nintendo 3DS/New 3DS XL cannot be moved to the 3DS/3DS XL.)

Q: What will you need in order to transfer data?

A: Internet connectivity. (Internet connectivity or a way to locally connect to the device.) You’ll also need enough battery or else it won’t transfer.

Since the SD card doesn’t fit the New Nintendo 3DS/New 3DS XL’s microSD slot, you’ll have to use either the wireless connectivity, or manually copy it from a computer.

Q: Is the wireless switch that was on the 3DS/3DS XL no longer available?

A: The physical switch is no longer there, but you can turn the wireless on/off at the Home Menu.

Q: Can the AC adapter for Nintendo 3DS/3DSXL/DSi/DSi XL be used for the New Nintendo 3DS/New 3DS XL?

A: Yes, it can.

Q: Is it compatible with the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector?

A: Yes, it is.

A: As far as Nintendo DS/DSi software goes, it won’t be able to play game cartridges that require a specific connections to the cartridge slots, such as the ones that required the GBA cartridge slot on the DS Lite and DS.

Other titles, for example Pokémon Tretta Lab, that requires extra hardware that fit the original 3DS’ shape and size, also won’t be compatible.

While new hardware does cause the price to drop, a lot of people are going to be very hesitant about buying an old 3ds when new games wont be playable on it. By then smash will be on the Wii U and that'll move instead.

With how many old3DS units have been sold, I doubt we'll see many N3DS-exclusive titles though. Just more titles that support CPP since it's essentially a built-in feature with the new line.

A much blurrier version of Xenoblade isn't enough to sell me either.

Anyone having problems with Eshop this morning?

I can access the lolbrowser, Friend List and online gaming on both WII U and 3ds but not Eshop

(If i put my 3ds on my Iphone Network i can access Eshop) Also i was able to get to the eshop yesterday WITH the same network as im in atm
