No, it's actually .1/attempt. I did think about changing that. Default is zero. Players who carry 20+ carry workloads should be rewarded.
For the ultimate WHAT THE FUCK, i can post Volcanic's epic scoring system
and by epic, i mean EPIC
You have to remember on the passing td's, tyche wants manning, brady, and brees to be the top 3 picks in every draft ever.
btw, money leagues should always be auction draft
the only reason I don't like auction for free leagues is that somebody doesn't show up
if it's for money, they show
also, pretty sure volc's system is theoretically the most logical, fair, and challenging possible, mathematically at least
i.e. Tyche got -6.53pts off Brady week 2 last year with him passing for 216 yards and only 1 INT basically because of his completion %.
Shits hardcore man, lol.
Very very few people are comfortable with auction drafts.
It's fun as hell when it's a real money league, cuz you just set the starting $ at the buy-in and you're basically investing exactly the amount of real money you spend on each player.
Yeah... but you have to consider how many TDs a QB is throwing every season. 16 TDs for a starting QB is pathetic, 16 TDs for RB or WR is MVP caliber. You didn't post it but do you play 25 yards/point for QBs? I also disagree with any points just for a completion, but that is the same argument that I make against PPR - guys deserve points based on yardage.
There are pros and cons to both. Guys aren't making 60 yard catches very often(except for Calvin Johnson), and they usually have a much higher degree of difficulty. A 60 yard catch is also going to either come with a TD or put you in the red zone almost every time. It's basically an argument between a speed receiver and possession receiver, and I think they should be treated equally, as yardage is what matters. And a 60 yard catch isn't equal to 6 10 yard catches. 1 60 yard catch may give you a TD, it may simply put you in FG range. 6 10 yard catches gives you 6 first downs, and any one of those could put you in a position to score.
The thing about throwing around negative points is you have to do gay shit like bench players on Monday night to make sure they don't get -7 and cost you a win. Now if a guy is putting up a Rex Grossman 60 yards with 5 picks line then by all means, he should be getting negative.
Oh, passing:
30 yards per point; 1 points at 300 yards; 1.5 points at 350 yards; 2 points at 400 yards
He still averaged 4.4 for the season and had a few over 6yp with about 20 carries a game man. That's pretty healthy for any scoring system.
i love the annual bitching about scoring systems.
Well that goes in hand with the increased points per TD at least.
But since I'm already complaining about this scoring system: What is the point of the bonuses? Does reaching an arbitrary number really deserve an extra pat on the back? If a guy is hitting that magic number of 100 yards rushing or 300 yards passing, he is already raking in the points.
While it's pretty obvious there are a lot of things I don't agree with in that scoring system, it comes down to this: Standard scoring is simple and fair, why mess with it? Changing one thing unbalances everything else, then you end up with a completely different system that tries desperately to accomplish what standard scoring has already done. I don't expect you to just drop everything and completely change your league if this is how you have always done it, just something to think about.
Every league I've ever played in has bonuses. Jesus fucking christ, don't play.
