Ugh, this again? >.<
Ugh, this again? >.<
Those classes are in the dats but there is nothing suggesting that they will be in the game for launch. It's been discussed ad nauseum in another thread regarding new classes.
Calm down Flame Warriors.
Besides, it's just like XI and the whole Libra thing. Been in dats since 2003, didn't see the light of day till 2010 with a personality shift (Spell > Ability) >.>
Besides not like there's much to talk about with beta down still.
I'm not in the beta and so I've only seen YouTube videos of character creation, but I'm curious about one part of it. Once you select your initial race/clan, you get presented with four different characters to choose from. What is the point of that? Is there a unique feature that is available to each model?
This is a piece out of the new manual info. I'm not 100% sure what they mean by "class-specific" but it sounds like you can't unequip abilities that belong to the the class you're using at the time. Now I was under the impression that all abilities required ability points to equip including abilities from your currently equipped class. This bolded point makes me think that's not the case. If you cant unequip them then why would they take up AP?/equipaction (/eaction)
Equip an action to a slot.
If an action name is not entered, the action equipped to that slot will be unequipped. However, you cannot unequip class-specific actions.
You can designate any slot from 1 to 30
What was the deal with AP in Phase 2? Sorry if this has been brought up already, I try to keep up with this thread as much as I can.
Calibration for gamepads makes me think of L- and R-stick sensitivity.
Edit: Logitech Profiler allows me to set sensitivity 0-1.0, dead zone 0-1.0, and range 0-1.0, but games I've used it with that have built-in gamepad support normally just do sensitivity.
I was under the impression that they were four base models to start creating your character from, like pre-designed characters, for people that don't want to spend a lot of time customizing, but I have heard that there might be unique features that you only get from starting with a given base model...
Debating whether to make my toon on Emperor or go to a hopefully more secluded server so I can test things easier alone...
It's just a base to start with. If there is one that is close to you want already it'll speed things up I guess instead of going through every single setting.
Of course it does! Less of people like that and more people that are willing to work together on Emp :D
Class specific actions means stuff like "throw rock" for gathering/crafting classes and light/heavy strike for pug, light/heavy thrust for lancer, etc. I think they just mean that if you write a macro that tries to put something in the slot of one of those abilities it will fail (because you're not allowed to move the ability from that spot while you're on that class.)
You get more AP for equipping abilities as you level your class. You start with 6ish and you gain 1-2 more per class skill level. Each ability in addition to the ones you are forced to have on your bar cost 2-3AP. I don't recall seeing anything over 3AP.
It's meant to limit your versatility but there was never a time when I really felt I had to make a tough choice in equipping abilities. Abilities from a different class are naturally weaker (less dmg or no AOE or longer recast) even if your stat distribution doesn't make them weaker.
Actually it's a different texture for the skin and it usually has different options for the charachteristics there may also be other differences but I'm only certain of the above
Far as the new jobs, when they become available my guess is they will be new jobs literally
Punishing barbs could very well be one of those abilities that nearly every job should use at some point. Until it's nerfed. I'm looking at tanking builds and while it's still way to early to start charting out a path, Conjurer (cure)---> Thurm (PB)--->Mar (Bloodbath, Defender)--->Pug---->(Second Wind)---->start Glad seems to make the most sense. At least to level 10.
mouse control seems more smoother now yipee! but i still am going controller
