Are you trying to say that the people who drew Mohammed had no idea that Muslims would take offense to their drawings? Both groups knew that what they were doing was going to anger Muslims and they did, or are going to do it anyway.

Drawing Muhammed is free (well, art supplies). Burning a Koran costs money. Burning a Koran, Bible, Atlas Shrugged, and Torah to distance yourself from the inbred rednecks costs even more money.

If you supported Draw Mohammed, but think Burn a Qu'ran is horrid, you might be a hypocrite. They're both highly insulting to Muslims, but because one was headed by fundamentalist Christians we get a shitstorm about it.
    Ha. Irrefutable logic.

Maybe some people will reflect on their bias when they come to realize this.

    bravo sir

Some people kind of lose perspective when it comes to topics they feel strongly about. Take Hitchens for example. He sides with neocons when it comes to how savage and iliberal Muslims are.

Hitchens was just seduced by the power neo-cons represented.

Let me elaborate. Neo-conservatism, at it's core, is the bastard child of elitism and intellectualism. To a man who would sees the world through the eyes of Machiavelli, such combination is very attractive.

Good point, Except for the fact you know If people chose to draw Muhammad American Soldiers lives wasn't gonna be put in danger since it really was international.

Drawing Muhammad and posting it on a internet game forum wouldn't be used by Al quesadilla to recruit uneducated Sheep fuckers who sole reason for living is to perpetuate a fairy tale about a god which has for all intents and purposes ignored their very existence..

this shit would be posted on youtube to be seen by every arab cafe across the Muslim world. If you had a basic understanding of how shit operates there you would know how easy it is to give in to terrorism when your family makes the equivalent of pennies a week and these terrorist cells promise you the world.

I'd recommend you download or stream terror in Mumbai if you want a deeper understanding in what goes on the simple mind of a terrorist.

How about we not provoke more violence and mind our own fucking business and not worry about giving in to terrorism? Funny how people still double take when people say we deserve the shit that happens to us.

I think the argument that korans should not be burned because it might provoke violence against Americans sort of misses the more salient point.

But here is a dilemma. Do you oppress these poor ignorant religious fucks because you are scared of other poor ignorant religious fucks?

Or do you stand the fuck back and watch them kill each other?

Atheists should really think about their stances on these kinds of things. Their right to belief is just as important and directly tied to our right to non-belief. We are still the most untrusted demographic out there. You don't have to be a Muslim to stand up for whats right. If you can't see how the two are different (I wasn't on board with the spiteful Muhammad drawings, just fyi) then you are pretty naive.

If that were a legit scenario, then yea sure lock them in a cage and let it work itself out. That is, however, hardly the case.

They can burn whatever the fuck they want I'm not advocating government intervention of any kind. My point is when the Shitstorm escalates because of some attention seeking son of whore and a 24/7 news cycle that covers it I don't wanna hear the tears when Blow back happens like on 9/11.

I don't think I can sit through another cycle of renewed patriotism with every Tom, Dick and Jane waving a flag and united we stand on every goddamn jiffylube marquee.
